  • Patent number: 6067071
Abstract: A display controller in a computer system controls the output of graphics display data in a computer system having a fixed resolution flat panel display. Fixed panel displays may have problems displaying non-native resolutions particularly at lower resolutions. The controller of the present invention uses a Discrete Time Oscillator (DTO) based clock divider and DCT based polyphase interpolation to upscale graphics display data from a first resolution to the panel resolution. DTO clock divider circuit synchronizes scan clocks between the input resolution and the desired output resolution. Within graphics display area, MVA.TM. display at greater color depth and resolution may be accommodated by additional DTO divider and interpolation steps.

  • Patent number: 6042052
Abstract: The invention comprises an improved seaplane having a retractable step. The term retractable step, however, is a misnomer. The step portion of the seaplane float includes a panel which may be extended once the plane is airborne to reduce aerodynamic drag created by such hydrodynamic steps. The panel may be hinged at a rear portion of the aircraft and extended and retracted using a hydraulic strut or the like. Side panels may also be provided which would hinge via a piano type hinge or the like to the sides of the extendable panel. The side panels may be provided with an end pin or pins which would travel in a track within the step cavity such that the side panels would be pushed into position as the step cover panel is extended. The apparatus of the present invention may be employed in both conventional and tunnel type hulls.

  • Patent number: 6027525
Abstract: A flexible self-expandable stent comprises a plurality of radially cylindrical elastic units spaced at fixed intervals, a cylindrical cover fixing member which sheaths the cylindrical elastic units, and a reverse flow preventing valve. The reverse flow preventing valve is attached to the inner wall of the stent, for preventing food-stuffs or fluids from flowing from a downstream side to an upstream side. The flexible self-expandable stent exhibits improved flexibility so that when the stent is disposed in a curved lumina, it can flexibly correspond to the curvature of the lumina and prevent the reverse flow of foodstuffs or fluids by use of the reverse flow preventing valve.

  • Patent number: 6026314
Abstract: A method and device for noninvasive measurement of blood component concentrations utilizes pulsed polychromatic light source emitting, light in the near infrared range 800-1850 nm. The light is back scattered from or transmitted through a part of a patient's body. Back scattered light from blood-containing tissues and blood vessels has information on blood component concentrations. That light is collected to avoid the surface reflection from the skin surface and to minimize the effects of changes in the scattering background. The concentrations of blood components are calculated from the spectral analysis based on selected wavelengths by a defined algorithm. A microprocessor calculates and determines the blood component concentrations by comparing a ratio with a calibration curve stored in a memory of the microprocessor. The calculated concentration values are displayed on a display.
