  • Patent number: 6090721
Abstract: Compositions of ammonium fluoride, propylene glycol, and water and methods of using these compositions to remove etch residues from silicon substrates which result from plasma or reactive ion etching of silicon substrate are provided. Not only do the compositions of the present invention overcome the environmental concerns associated with the use of ethylene glycol, but unlike previous compositions of ammonium fluoride in propylene glycol which are acidic, the compositions of the present invention are neutral to slightly basic (i.e., pH 7 to about pH 8). Hence, they remove etch residues from silicon substrates with minimal attack on other features on the silicon substrates.

  • Patent number: 6079249
Abstract: A can end is formed from sheet material in a single acting press by blanking a workpiece and holding the workpiece between a blanking punch and a draw pad. The periphery of the workpiece is worked between a knockout and a crown ring to contour a crown. A bead punch advances into the workpiece to form a shell extending from the crown. The bead punch bottoms out on a bead die and collapses to a predetermined position to form a plurality of beads adjacent the shell by flowing a portion of the shell to form the beads while shortening the shell to less than specifications for the can end. The bead punch returns to an uncollapsed position during upstroke of the press to extend the shell to be within specifications. Apparatus for forming a can end in a press includes a fluidly supported die crown ring having an upper surface defining a can end crown contour. A knockout is aligned with the die crown ring for engaging a workpiece upon downstroke of the press to form a crown in the periphery of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6076080
Abstract: An order entry system is provided comprising a first computer system, a printing station computer system, a form design repository, a second computer system, a validation engine, and a pricing engine. The first computer system captures form design data and the second computer generates a form price, validates the form, and transmits a validated and priced order to the printing station computer system. The second computer is also programmed to store an index of form design files in the form design repository. The forms order entry system is also programmed to determine manufacturability of an ordered form by comparing its form design data to a set of validation rules and route manufacturability exceptions to a selected one of a plurality of exception handling locations. The pricing engine determines identified labor, material, burden, and mark-up cost components, and applies a set of pricing rules to them, to enable calculation of a form price.

  • Patent number: 6069692
Abstract: A missile launcher system includes a launching tube and a tracker for tracking a target and for adjusting a flight path of the missile while in flight such that it will hit the target. The tracker includes an optical channel (12) having an optical aiming marking (e.g. cross hairs) and control means to adjust the missile flight path in response to aiming of the optical aiming marking. The invention provides for conversion of the missile launcher system by projecting the optical aiming marking via a video camera (16) conveniently by means of a retro reflector (18) on a monitor, generating and adjusting an electronic aiming marking to coincide with the optical aiming marking and connecting the video camera to the optical channel. Remote controlling the video camera to aim at the target in accordance with images on the monitor thus aims the optical channel appropriately and thus causes the control means to control the missile appropriately to hit the target.

  • Patent number: 6056850
Abstract: The temperature of a dry etch process of a semiconductor substrate in a plasma etch chamber is controlled to maintain selectivity while also providing a high etch rate by introducing one or more cooling steps into the etch process. To maintain selectivity of the etch as well as a high rate of etch, the formation of plasma is terminated prior to exceeding a predetermined maximum temperature at at least one selected location in the chamber. The temperature at the selected location is reduced prior to the resumption of plasma flow and etching. The plasma etch is then continued, and may optionally be terminated again to permit cooling, as needed, until etching has been completed.
