  • Patent number: 6755962
Abstract: A slurry phase reactor is designed to treat extra heavy petroleum crude in a combination of thermal-zone and catalytic-zone in a counterflow system where liquid feed is added to the top and hydrogen at the bottom. Feed enters the gas-phase thermal zone, where it passes to a liquid-phase thermal zone. In the liquid-phase thermal zone, the hydrocarbon is thermally cracked and the unreacted liquid is further passed to a catalytic-zone below in communication with the thermal-zone. Catalyst can be added or removed as required in a continuous mode without shutting down the system. The heat generated inside the catalytic cracking zone is distributed to the entire reactor as the gaseous product flows upward. Feed is brought to the reaction conditions by the heat recovered from the gas-phase zone. Reaction temperature could be controlled by feed temperature.

  • Patent number: 6688958
Abstract: The present invention, in a preferred embodiment, is a new and improved hand-held manual sander that comprises a sander body, a hand grip, a mounting plate and a working surface. More specifically, the sander body includes a cylindrically shaped member designed to reduce fatigue to the hand during extended use of sander. The hand grip is adapted to the size of a palm for a single handed grip around the sander. A finger recess around the periphery of the hand grip portion is designed to further facilitate one-handed use. The mounting plate extends from the sander body. The working surface is associated with the bottom of the mounting plate. The outer periphery of the mounting plate substantially defines the size of the working surface and, therefore, the size of working materials such as sandpaper. The working surface consists of hook type materials of hook and loop mechanical attachment systems.

  • Patent number: 6482239
Abstract: The present invention, in a preferred embodiment, is a new and improved sound post installer that generally comprises a handle, a prong and a positioning hook. More specifically, the handle is an elongated rodlike member that is sized so that it may be easily inserted into the F hole and turned within the F hole with ease. The handle is angled at one end to produce an offset in an otherwise straight member. The prong is a razor sharp pointed member located at end of the offset. The positioning hook is located at the other end of the handle. The positioning hook may be placed anywhere along the length of the installed sound post to adjust the vertical positioning of the sound post. A flexible sleeve is fixedly attached to the positioning hook to allow the user to rotate the sound post to maximize contact with belly and back of the instrument. As an alternative, a plurality of notches are located on the hook to allow rotation of the sound post.

  • Patent number: 6390885
Abstract: The present invention, in the preferred embodiment, is a surgery recovery brassiere which resolves many of the problems faced by women who have undergone breast surgery and particularly, mastectomy. The present invention comprises front panels, prosthesis panels, rear panels, torso band, straps, drain tube apertures and fluid collection storage pouch. More specifically, two front panels each comprise a cup portion and a conforming portion. The prosthesis panels are attached to the rear facing of the cup portion of the front panel to form enclosed pockets to hold one or two prosthesis. Each of the two rear panels are joined at one end to the front panels and extend to meet the opposing rear panel at a back closure. The free end of each of the front panels meet to form a front closure. Straps extend from the top of the front panel to the top of the adjacent rear panel.
