  • Patent number: 8280393
Abstract: The invention discloses a method and an apparatus of bandwidth resource allocation in a mobile communication system. The methods is used for dividing sector bandwidth resource into private bandwidth resource for only users in its own sector and a public bandwidth resource. The bandwidth resource in the public bandwidth resource which is not allocated to users in its own sector for use can be lent to other sectors, and bandwidth resource in the public bandwidth resource which has been allocated to users, located at a central area, of its own sector for use can be multiplexed by other sectors. The method of bandwidth resource allocation in a mobile communication system according to the present invention utilizes the resource of the adjacent cells efficiently, and resolves the interference among cells due to the bandwidth resource borrowing/multiplexing.

  • Patent number: 8277182
Abstract: A system for adjusting the pitch of a variable pitch propeller has a hub assembly, a valve assembly, and a fluid supply assembly. The hub assembly comprises a hub rotatably driven by a propeller shaft, an actuator connected to the hub, and a plurality of propeller blades connected to the actuator with at least one mechanical connection. The valve assembly is in fluid communication with the valve assembly and the actuator. The fluid supply assembly comprises a valve control mechanism that is isolated from the valve assembly and the hub assembly. The valve control mechanism provides a variable hydraulic pressure control signal to the valve assembly, which transfers fluid to the actuator as a function of the variable hydraulic pressure control signal. Based on the fluid pressure in the actuator, the pitch of the propeller blades is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 8278858
Abstract: A permanent magnet comprises a primary winding, a secondary winding, a permanent magnet, an output terminal for connection to an external load, and a switching mechanism with two modes. In a first mode of the switching mechanism, the primary winding is connected between neutral and the output terminal, and the varying magnetic flux from the permanent magnet induces a nonzero voltage at the output terminal. In the second mode, the secondary winding provides a return path to neutral for the primary winding, thereby providing negligible voltage and current at the output terminal and substantially canceling change in magnetic flux from the permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 8259474
Abstract: A matrix converter includes a plurality of switching elements and is adapted to receive a multi-phase alternating current (AC) input signal having an input frequency and to generate a multi-phase AC output signal having an output frequency. The phases of the input signal are sorted as a function of their instantaneous voltage amplitude (60). A reference signal is generated from output reference voltages that correspond to each phase of the output signal (56). Duty cycles are calculated for each phase of the output signal based on the sorted input signal phases and the reference signal (62). Switching functions, which each control one of the switching elements, are then generated based on the duty cycles for each phase of the output signal (64, 66).
