Abstract: A method of producing a surfaced composite panel of cellulosic particulates, such as wood flakes, involves the application of polymer forming foamable material to at least one of the first and second major surfaces of the panel, contacting said at least one of the first and second surfaces with a pressure applying surface to apply pressure thereto, foaming the polymer forming foamable material while pressure is applied and curing the applied foam material to produce a polymeric coating on the panel with the desired surface, which is typically extremely smooth. One or both surfaces may be surface treated in this manner. A skin formed on the surface of the panel is believed to add to the strength and stiffness of the coating on the panel. A wide variety of foaming systems may be used to accomplish this surface treating. By avoiding sanding the surface treated panel, the skin remains intact.

Abstract: A multiplex security system provides two-way data communications between a local panel and multiple microprocessor-based remote panels interconnected over a common data transmission line. A second line provides two-way voice communications between the local and remote panels with automatic forwarding by an audio/data control selector to a central control unit via a single telephone line. Two additional lines provide a common ground and transmit DC power from the local to the remote panels. The remote panels include bus drivers connected to the communications line for transmitting both ASCII digital data messages and a higher voltage request or SRQ signal to the local panel when the remote panel has a message to transmit. The local panel includes two separate receivers for distinguishing the request signal from digital data and a bus driver for transmitting data. The local panel transmits a grant message which is superimposed over the request signal, reducing its voltage level to zero.
Abstract: A tone generating system for an organ comprises a first group of tone generators for producing notes of a first chromatic scale and second group of tone generators for producing notes of a second chromatic scale, slightly offset from the first. The tone generators are addressed via a microprocessor in response to keyboard input, wherein the fundamental and a first plurality of selected harmonic components of a given note are generated by respective tone generators of said first group, and the remaining harmonics are provided by generators of the second group. Harmonic amplitude coefficients for particular organ waveforms are stored in random access memory and are subject to change according to stop inputs coupled to the microprocessor.
