  • Patent number: 4872021
Abstract: The antenna represents colinearly arranged half-wave dipoles. On the side of each final half-wave dipole is a quarter-wave dipole. The connection between the dipoles is alternately capacitive and inductive each providing a phase shift within the range of from 60 to 120 electrical degrees. The terminal of the antenna is asymmetrically deduced from the free end of one of the final half-wave dipoles and the adjacent end of the nearby quarter-wave dipole. This antenna can be used in reception and transmission of electromagnetic energy and shows a considerably increased gain.

  • Patent number: 4866926
Abstract: Fibre loosening device for a spinning unit of a spinning machine. The invention relates to a fibre loosening device for a spinning unit of a spinning machine. Before entering the fibre separating area, the sliver is longitudinally separated into fibre sections fed to a separating region, i.e., to helix-like arranged functional lines on the fibre separating roller, such feeding being non-simultaneous but sequential. The division into the fibre sections is initially carried out by means of protrusions defining grooves therebetween on a condenser, the axial distance between these grooves not being an integer multiple of the helix lead width of the functional lines on the fiber separating roller. The arrangement provides for reducing periodical irregularities of the fibres for the subsequent spinning process.

  • Patent number: 4865050
Abstract: In order to increase the efficiency of a harvesting line of hop vines and in order to eliminate hard work, the transfer of hop vines is controlled starting from their cutting in the hop garden up to their feeding to a picking machine. In order to increase the reliability of functioning, the hop vines are always consecutively seized at a hitherto not damaged place of the stalk. A displaceable rotary storage device can be alternately connected to a trailing device, to a conveying device and to an intermediate storage device provided in front of a dosing conveyer of a picking machine.

  • Patent number: 4864932
Abstract: A propellant-charge pack has an annular envelope having an outer wall extending along and centered on an axis, a pair of axially spaced end walls extending transversely inward from the axis and having inner peripheries centered on the axis, and an inner wall defining a clear axially throughgoing passage between the inner peripheries of the end walls. The envelope is generally axially symmetrical about the axis, that is it is formed as a body of revolution or of regular polygonal section, and is substantially symmetrical to a plane perpendicular to the axis midway between the end walls. A relatively easily ignited primar charge forms a part of the inner wall symmetrical of the plane and a propellant charge fills the envelope between the walls outward of the inner wall. The primar charge is of such high combustibility, compared to the diameter of the passage, that the entire primar charge, even of a stack of such packs, will be ignited before they burn through and set off the respective propellant charges.

  • Patent number: 4860926
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for dosingly filling pasty or fluid filling material into containers. The arrangement is provided with a rotatably mounted cylinder and an axially slidably mounted piston which moves within the rotatable cylinder and which in its extreme inner position closes at least a third, but preferably about 50% of a window-like through opening, respectively inlet opening in the housing of the device. When retracting the dosing piston it exposes the portion of the through opening which has been closed when the piston is in its innermost position. By filling containers by means of the device of this invention, the filling material is automatically dropped into the rotating cylinder and is thereby subjected to an extraordinarily sparingly sensitive manipulation, which is particularly significant for sensitive products, such as for example salad-like products.

  • Patent number: 4858685
Abstract: A heat exchanger has a plurality of like plates each in turn provided with a base portion substantially on and defining a base plane and having a pair of generally parallel opposite outer edges, and respective lips bent upward from the outer edges and forming and lying on an attachment plane substantially parallel to the base plane. Adhesive bonds or welds secure the plates together in a stack to form generally perpendicular flow passages parallel to the plane. The lips of each plate extend generally perpendicular to the lips of the adjacent plate and the plates are secured together with the connection plane of each plate lying on the base plane of an adjacent plate. Each plate is formed between the respective opposite edges with a plurality of integral bumps projecting from the respective base plane toward the respective connection plane. These bumps each have an apex lying on the respective connection plane.

A water tank for receiving the mixture of the vapour and the smoke and precipitating the same with the water contained therein is connected to the collecting device by a conduit. The conduit is provided with suction means to accelerate the flow of the mixture of the vapour and the smoke to the tank. The water tank may also be equipped with set of vapour spraying devices and a smoke filtering web for preventing the possible leakage of smoke from the water tank. A preferred embodiment has two opposing collecting devices, each provided with its own conduit, suction means, and tank.

  • Patent number: 4854067
Abstract: A hydropneumatic harpoon has an arrow, a base and a body with a hydraulic chamber. In the rear end of the chamber is a pneumoaccumulator, the front of which rests against a rubber membrane whose front part is placed on a discharge grid while its rear part is mounted on a mobile barrel that is sealed by a rubber ring. Perpendicularly to the axis of the discharge grid is mounted a trigger valve. The barrel is connected through intermediate barrels with an attachment in which is placed a seal for the arrow. The arrow is composed of a basic stem and a point that are connected through one or more intermediate stems. The inner diameter of the barrel and those of the intermediate barrels are equal. The diameter of the basic stem and the diameters of the intermediate stems are also equal. A principal advantage of this harpoon is the ability to modify its length and thus to obtain a harpoon with a small, medium or large killing force when used in submarine fishing.

  • Patent number: 4854354
Abstract: The invention relates to a dosing arrangement for filling of liquid nutrient materials, in particular salad-like products having solid, respectively chunky constituents, whereby a cylinder-piston-unit is mounted for a return sucking operation substantially in the immediate vicinity of the outlet end of a mouthpiece, respectively a mouthpiece chamber. Thereby an undesirable postdripping is prevented also during the filling of liquid containing products having solid constituents. In particular this effect is achieved by providing the mouthpiece with a return sucking cylinder connected thereto at its lower end by way of a conical communication channel and a transfer piece for receiving at least a slitted sealing membrane or the like sealing element.

  • Patent number: 4852340
Abstract: The invention solves the problem of ejecting impurities out of a cleaning aperture in the fiber separating device of an open-end rotor spinning unit, particularly when there are various contaminations of fibrous slivers and of different kinds of textile fibers being processed. For this purpose an air flow regulator is provided in the separating device in an air supply duct communicating with the cleaning aperture. According to the invention, the air flow regulator is provided with an air directing wall near the outlet of the air supply duct and thus directs air flow into the cleaning aperture toward the fiber opening cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4847403
Abstract: 2-Isopropyl-2-(2-methylphenyl)-5-(N-methylhomoveratrylamino)-valeronitrile ("mepamil") of the Formula I: ##STR1## preferably administered in the form of water-soluble acid addition salts such as e.g. hydrochloride. The claimed compound is advantageously prepared by alkylation of 2-(2-methylphenyl)-3-methylbutyronitrile with 3,3-diethoxypropylchloride. Subsequently, the obtained 5,5-diethoxy-2-isopropyl-2-(2-Methylphenyl)-valeronitrile is mildly, acidically hydrolisized to yield the appropriate aldehye, i.e. 2-isopropyl-2-(2-methylphenyl)-5-oxovaleronitrile. This aldehyde is then reacted with N-methylhomoveratrylamine under conditions of reductive alkylation, suitably by catalytic hydrogenation over a platinum or palladium catalyst or by chemical reduction with the use of formic acid as a reducing agent. The resulting base is optionally converted by neutralization with a pharmaceutically acceptable organic or inorganic acid, i.e. hydrochloric or fumaric acid, into the corresponding acid addition salt.
