  • Patent number: 8313675
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for demolding lens mold assemblies are described in which the lens mold assemblies are positioned below a puncher header each with at least one punch pin. The puncher header is then moved against the lens mold assemblies so that the at least one punch pin of each puncher punches through a lens mold layer of a first mold part to then push against a second lens mold layer of a second mold part to separate the two parts in a demolding process.

  • Patent number: 8315268
Abstract: A machine implemented method and system for communication between a computing system and an adapter is provided. An application from among a plurality of applications sends a message to the adapter with a value V. The adapter queues the message at the first storage location and writes the value V at a second storage location after the message is successfully queued at the first storage location. To determine if the message was successfully queued, the computing system reads the written value at the second storage location and compares it to the value V that was sent with the message.

  • Patent number: 8308694
Abstract: A needle tip protective device for use with percutaneous entry needles. In one embodiment, the needle tip protective device includes a needle guard slidably mounted on a hypodermic needle, the latter having a needle tip located at the distal end thereof, and a change of profile formed medially there along. The needle guard is movable along the hypodermic needle and engageable with the change in profile formed thereon. The engagement with the change in profile is configured to correspond with the ability of the needle trap to entrap the needle tip once the needle trap has advanced the sufficient distance distally along the hypodermic needle. In further refinements, the needle trap may be biased toward the distal needle tip of the needle.

  • Patent number: 8307111
Abstract: Applications executed out of router memory may acquire additional bandwidth that is not being used by other applications, in order to speed up network traffic. Scavenging may occur up to a point where current congestion is detected, at which point any scavenged bandwidth is relinquished and the application returns to its prescribed limit. After current congestion is mitigated, scavenging may occur up to a limit below the point where congestion was detected. After a predetermined interval, additional scavenging may occur beyond this limit until a preset bandwidth limit is reached.

  • Patent number: 8301817
Abstract: An electronic system including modules connected in a ring network is provided. The modules communicate via ring interfaces. The ring interfaces are connected by inter-module links that include a control bus and combined address and data bus. The ring interfaces send and receive single-cycle transactions. The control bus signals the type of transaction and the source and destination modules. The ring interfaces forward transactions to their destinations and may send new transaction when a cycle is empty. Each read operation uses a read request transaction containing an address that is responded to with an acknowledgment transaction that includes the requested data. Each write operation uses two write requests, one containing an address and one containing data. The destination module signals completion of the write operation by sending an acknowledgment transaction.

  • Patent number: 8276047
Abstract: Continuously interleaved codewords are used in a communication system to provide error correction capability. In general, each codeword shares symbols with both preceding and subsequent codewords, when the codewords are arranged in an order, such that correction of symbols in any one codeword also corrects symbols in another codeword and correction of symbols in any codeword may allow, considering possible corrections of intermediate codewords, for further correction of any codeword in the order of codewords. In one embodiment received information may be arranged in subframes, with each subframe including terminal symbols of a plurality of codewords, each of the plurality of codewords including symbols in multiple subframes.
