  • Patent number: 8331370
Abstract: A hierarchical distributed routing architecture including at least two levels, or layers, for receiving, processing and forwarding data packets between network components is provided. The core level router components receive an incoming packet from a network component and identify a distribution level router component based on processing a subset of the destination address associated with the received packet. The distribution level router components receive a forwarded packet and forward the packet to a respective network. The mapping, or other assignment, of portions of destination addresses to router components of the distributed routing environment may be managed by a router management component. In some embodiments, mapping of destination address to router components may be based, at least in part, on traffic volumes associated with the mapped destination addresses.

  • Patent number: 8332008
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing sensor analyte data, including initiating calibration, updating calibration, evaluating clinical acceptability of reference and sensor analyte data, and evaluating the quality of sensor calibration. During initial calibration, the analyte sensor data is evaluated over a period of time to determine stability of the sensor. The sensor may be calibrated using a calibration set of one or more matched sensor and reference analyte data pairs. The calibration may be updated after evaluating the calibration set for best calibration based on inclusion criteria with newly received reference analyte data. Fail-safe mechanisms are provided based on clinical acceptability of reference and analyte data and quality of sensor calibration. Algorithms provide for optimized prospective and retrospective analysis of estimated blood analyte data from an analyte sensor.

  • Patent number: 8332571
Abstract: Virtual machine optimization and/or storage reclamation solutions are disclosed that manage virtual machine sprawl and/or growing enterprise storage costs. For instance, certain solutions receive recommendations based on one or more rules, policies and/or user preferences that identify storage and/or alignment criteria for virtual machine disk (VMDK) partition(s). In certain examples, a resize tool that operates within a host operating system of a host server dynamically resizes and/or aligns one or more VMDK partitions of a powered-down virtual machine. For instance, the resize tool can be injected to the host server from a remote management server and can resize and/or align the VMDK partitions without requiring contents of the VMDK to be copied to another VMDK. By reallocating storage and/or aligning the VMDK partitions, embodiments of the invention can increase virtual machine performance and improve storage management.

  • Patent number: 8332579
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a data storage apparatus includes a flash memory and a controller for controlling the flash memory. The flash memory is configured to store data is written in units of a prescribed size. In order to write data smaller than the prescribe size, the controller first isolates attribute data from each save data item of the prescribed size, which has been read from any flash memory, and then stores the attribute data to an attribute data memory, and finally transfers the user data contained in the save data, to a save data memory.

  • Patent number: 8332283
Abstract: An electronic commerce system provides various features for assisting customers in browsing and generating orders from an electronic catalog. One such feature enables customers to efficiently keep track of the items and item quantities currently selected for purchase. For example, when a customer requests a page corresponding to a particular item category, the system may supplement the category page with an indication of which of the items on the page (if any) are currently selected for purchase. This may be accomplished by supplementing the page with selection quantity values that are displayed in customer-editable fields. Search results pages may be supplemented in a similar manner. Another feature enables the customer to save, under a user-specified name, a record of the items and item quantities currently selected for purchase, and to subsequently make this record active (e.g., to generate a repeat order).
