  • Patent number: 5988701
Abstract: A by-pass level indicator includes a main tube in communication with a tank via a pair of by-pass tube members, a float containing a magnet and an indicator attachably mounted to the main tube and having a series of magnetic colored flags reacting with the magnet of the float for indicating level of the tank. Each of the by-pass tube members includes a T-joint having an upright tube receivably engaging with one end of the main tube and a transverse tube integrally extending from the upright tube communicating the main tube to the tank. The transverse tube has a male threaded end portion to partly receiving an O-ring. The by-pass tube member further has a combination of a union and a collar adapted to communicating the transverse tube with the tank. The collar is threadingly engaged with the male threaded end portion of the transverse tube and clamps a connecting tube of the union to the transverse tube simultaneously compressing a protruding portion of the O-ring, thereby achieving a fluid-tight seal.

  • Patent number: 5970970
Abstract: Toys and methods for safely and reproducibly launching ring airfoils in a flying orientation. The toys generally comprise a member, a ring airfoil support mounted on the member, and a propelling element configured to move the ring airfoil support along the member from a first to a second position. Contact between the ring airfoil and the ring airfoil support causes the ring airfoil to move with the ring airfoil support as the ring airfoil support moves; this contact is overcome as the ring airfoil support decelerates at the second position, causing the ring airfoil to be launched with forward or both forward and spinning motion. The toys further may comprise a housing to protect the toy and user, a return element to place the toy in an engaged, launch-ready configuration, and a trigger to hold the toy in the engaged configuration until launching.

  • Patent number: 5833302
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a camper on the bed of a vehicle. The apparatus includes a pair of laterally spaced and generally opposed stabilizers that are mounted adjacent respective side walls on the bed and have vertical, inwardly facing surfaces that are configured to engage the camper's side walls. Each stabilizer engages a respective one of the camper's side walls, and the stabilizers collectively define a mounting surface therebetween within which the camper is removably mounted and stabilized. The apparatus further includes a pair of guides for positioning the camper as the camper is mounted on the vehicle. Each guide extends at an angle generally upwardly and outwardly from the stabilizer and toward the side wall to which the stabilizer is adjacent to provide an angled surface that is configured to engage and direct the camper into the mounting surface between the stabilizers as the camper is mounted on the bed, even if the camper and the bed are originally slightly out of alignment.
