Abstract: A records management system and method includes sending periodic notifications to record owners and managers when their records are under a hold order. Also, return receipts in response to an e-mail message related to a record are automatically declared as records themselves and linked to the original record.

Abstract: Provided is a method, system, and program for enabling access to data in a storage medium within one of a plurality of storage cartridges capable of being mounted into a interface device. An association is provided of at least one coding key to a plurality of storage cartridges. A determination is made of one coding key associated with one target storage cartridge, wherein the coding key is capable of being used to access data in the storage medium within the target storage cartridge. The determined coding key is encrypted. The coding key is subsequently decrypted to use to decode and code data stored in the storage medium.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and media for managing electronic asset tags for asset devices are disclosed. Embodiments include a system having one or more asset devices in communication with a network where each asset device has an electronic asset tag, where the electronic asset tag has contents including an asset number associated with the asset device having the electronic asset tag. The system may also include an asset tag manager in communication with the network to access the contents of the electronic asset tags of the one or more asset devices. In a further embodiment, the asset tag manager may be adapted to modify the contents of the electronic asset tags of the one or more asset devices. In another further embodiment, the asset tag manager may be adapted to reload to an asset device the contents of the electronic asset tag of the asset device.

Abstract: Provided is a method, system, and program for accessing calendar information of users in a database for presentation by a personal information manager. Scheduled event records for users are maintained within the database. Further maintained in the database is information on a current location of wireless devices of users in the database, wherein one user is associated with each wireless device. Scheduled event records and the current location of a wireless device for a shadowed user are provided from the database to a device operated by a shadower user in the database.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and program for transaction management. An indication is received that a transaction is beginning. An operation identifier for the transaction is generated. Actions are logged for the transaction identified by the operation identifier, wherein the actions include requests, corresponding reverse requests, and locks granted. Also disclosed is a method, system, and program for locking management. A command is received that specifies an operation identifier. It is determined whether the command is associated with a transaction using the operation identifier. If it is determined that the command is associated with a transaction, operating at a transaction level of locking. Further disclosed is a method, system, and program for lock management. Under control of a lock manager, (i) lock request queuing is performed, (ii) heartbeat functions are performed, and (iii) state information is maintained.
