The carbon source comprising an oxygenic compound preferably is an alcohol and/or ether. The catalyst preferably is a metal. The heating temperature is preferably 500 to 1,500° C. The single-walled carbon nanotubes thus yield contain no foreign substances and have satisfactory quality with few defects.

The mixing nozzles 14 inject the slurry of the abrasive scavenging agent together with the high-pressure liquid so that the abrasive scavenging agent bombards the scales on the surfaces of the metal wires 10 to remove the scales.

A tubular knit fabric for a columnar sandbag employed in these methods, and, in particular, the tubular knit fabric knitted by use of a polylactic-acid fiber.
