  • Patent number: 5265557
Abstract: A modular bird or animal cage accessory assemblage generally made of resilient materials, includes interchangeable rods engageable with a C-shaped system clasp having a corresponding channel guide for receiving the rods therein. The rods are held in place by a combination of the position of the rods within corresponding channel guides of one or more clasps and by the use of central sphere branched connectors, which branched connectors may be rapidly and easily loosened for dismantling of the assemblage, so that the rods can be re-used in other configurations. A systematic plurality of rods is provided with incremental dimensioned variations, so that the size of the assemblage can be varied while preserving the ability to create hollow spaces between the rods. Expansion of the size of the containers is accomplished by axial connection of the rods.

  • Patent number: 5230652
Abstract: A fish scaling device having a dual cutting blade for alternately removing scales of a fish and thereafter removing the inner visceral tissues of the fish. The device preferably includes a pair of upper sharp surfaces having mutually opposite end points, with the upper sharp surfaces each being convex in shape and defining a gap therebetween. The convex surfaces adapt to the inner visceral concave surfaces of the inside of the fish being cleaned. In addition, oppositely disposed to the sharp, smooth blade surfaces are a pair of convex serrated blades having mutually opposite end points, with the serrated blades defining a gap therebetween. In an alternate version a rotating blade set is provided with alternate serrated and generally sharp, smooth blade surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5207343
Abstract: A modular knock-down packing container system, generally of wood, includes interchangeable wall panels with corresponding channel guides for guaranteeing the structurally reinforcement and sealing of the interchangeable walls. The panels are held in place by a combination of the position of the panels within corresponding channel guides and of the use of central sphere rod connectors, which connectors may be rapidly and easily loosened for dismantling of the packaging system, so that the panels can be re-used in other configurations. A systematic plurality of wall panels is provided with incremental dimensioned variations, so that the size of the containers can be varied while preserving the ability to create large hollow interiors uninterrupted by perpendicular floor members. Expansion of the size of the containers is also accomplished without limiting interior container storage space by axial connection of the stacking of the panels end over end.

  • Patent number: 5189855
Abstract: The invention provides a foundation raft for supporting a structure such as a low rise building on soil which is prone to heaving or settling. The raft has a pair of foundation slabs, of set cementitious material which are spaced apart by a plurality of upwardly extending webs. The webs are fast with the slabs. Each slab has a thickness A of 50-200 mm; the slabs are spaced apart by a spacing B of 100-1500 mm; and each web has a thickness C of 0.2-400 mm.

  • Patent number: 5149354
Abstract: A composition for treating swimming pools to inhibit the growth of algae, fungi and bacteria, and to prevent the formation of turbidity in the pool water, more particularly to reduce the dosage of chlorine or chlorine-based chemicals to maintain the pool water in a clear and pathogen-free condition, while at the same time substantially eliminating the risk of deposits and stains being formed on the pool walls, comprises by weight:from about 78 to about 83 percent of copper sulphate, from about 0.08 to about 0.12 percent of silver nitrate, from about 1.0 to about 1.4 percent each of sodium gluconate and zinc chloride or zinc sulphate, from about 16.4 to about 9.6 percent of water, and from about 3.5 to about 4.5 of a complexone, preferably the tetrasodium salt of EDTA.To ensure the desired properties and consistency of the product as well as successful manufacture, the ingredients have to be mixed in a particular manner and sequence of steps.

  • Patent number: 5102135
Abstract: An improved roulette game whose rotor has a conical surface sloped towards its center, in which is placed a central rotating disk coaxially on the rotor mounting shaft, the rotor being free to rotate on its shaft and its conical inclined surface terminating abruptly in a lateral annular surface which leaves a free space from that surface to the shaft secured coaxially to the mentioned rotor and from that annular surface a plurality of projecting walls extend radially defining, between each pair of adjacent walls, a pocket to contain the ball used in the game. The pockets thus defined are frontally closed by another annular wall belonging to the central rotating disk. The latter is placed in the free space existing between the pockets and the rotor mounting shaft, and its annular wall has a height substantially similar to that of the rotor annular wall. The central rotating disk has a conical slope whose lower edge coincides with the pockets.

  • Patent number: 5090435
Abstract: The invention relates to a folding canopy like a sunshade, shelter for hiking, camping or similar, intended specially to provide protection for an area of ground against storms, sunshine or rain. The shelter (1) consists of a roof held up by a retractable system (3) fitted on a column (4) supported on the ground via a foot (5). The foot (5) has means for extending its radial arms (6) simply through the contact between a sliding ferrule on which the arms (6) are jointed and the ground. The invention concerns manufacturers of industrial sunshades and umbrellas.
