Abstract: Described are devices used to manufacture or assemble firearm ammunition using either new or used metallic cartridge cases. Specifically, these devices combine the necessary means to trim cartridge cases to a predetermined length while removing burrs and chambering both the inside and outside of the case mouth, removing cartridge case material used to crimp primers into the cartridge case by swaging, cutting the cartridge case primer pocket to a predetermined depth, chambering both the inside and outside surface of the cartridge case flash hole, and trimming the wall thickness of the cartridge case neck to a uniform dimension, all with the same device and by a manner that increases convenience and accuracy over any other means currently available.
Abstract: A portable computer system manages data conveniently for a user. The system has a processor, a program storage device coupled to the processor, an input recognizer adapted to receive non-cursive handwritings from the user and to convert the handwriting to data, and a computer readable code embodied in the program storage device for storing and processing the data.
Abstract: The present invention is an electroluminescent device which proves a means for illuminating push-button devices such as television remote controllers, keypads for security systems, computer keyboards, beepers, night lights, telephones, portable emergency lighting, calculators, and like devices. The invention comprises a power supply which includes an electrical voltage inverter and a power source, and which is connected to a thin and flexible electroluminescent planar sheet containing embedded circuitry and powered by alternating current. The individual components are connected together by electrical leads. The thin electroluminescent lamp portion of the invention provides an even area of template illumination when it is placed over push buttons of an underlying device, and that device can then be used under low-level illumination, or even in complete darkness. Additionally, the present invention allows augmentation of existing illumination.
Abstract: A portable computer system manages data for a user using a processor; a program storage device coupled to said processor; an input recognizer embodied in said program storage device, said input recognizer adapted to receive non-cursive handwritings from said user and convert said non-cursive handwritings into text data; and a computer readable code embodied in said program storage device and coupled to said input recognizer for receiving said non-cursive handwritings, said computer readable code storing said data and allowing said user to process said data.
Abstract: A computer system has a power-down mode to conserve energy. The computer system includes a speech transducer for capturing speech; a low-energy consuming power-up indicator coupled to said speech transducer, said power-up indicator detecting speech directed at said speech transducer and asserting a wake-up signal to a powered-down processor; and a voice recognizer coupled to said speech transducer and said wake-up signal, said voice recognizer waking up from the power-down mode when said wake-up signal is asserted.
Abstract: The present invention provides a graphical data entry system for accepting and processing hand sketches and writings such that the user can quickly specify graphical objects in a drawing on a hand-held, mobile computer with a relatively compact screen. A viewing glass is provided by the graphical data entry system which enables the user to pan and zoom into a specific display region of the drawing. An object classification and recognition capability is provided to allow the present invention to recognize objects being sketched by the user and to convert the hand sketches into computer aided design (CAD)-like drawings. Further, the present invention integrates speech recognition and keyboard data entry to provide a user friendly computer system. Additionally, the graphical data entry system of the present invention can be used in conjunction with a camera to annotate pictures taken with the camera.
