  • Patent number: 6413140
Abstract: A modular elk call system comprising generally a mouthpiece assembly, a tubular portion, and a resonance producing end. The mouthpiece assembly can be completely removed from the call to enable the tubular section and resonance producing end piece to be used separately with any other type of call. The mouthpiece assembly comprises a detachable snap-on diaphragm that insures accurate, consistent tension of the membrane to allow high quality tones to be produced. Alternatively, a sheet of membrane material can be attached to the end of the mouthpiece assembly to create high quality tones. The resonance producing end piece allows the call to produce a resonant sound highly similar to a bugling bull elk.

  • Patent number: 6360735
Abstract: An adjustable eccentric for a compound archery bow includes a let-off adjustment module that pivots between two let-off positions. Adjusting the module between a first let-off position and a second let-off position effectively changes the distance between the cable and the pivot axis of the eccentric at full draw, which changes, in turn, the let off. The eccentric is also adjustable to change the draw length within a given range. A dampening device is further secured to the eccentric at a location on the cable take-up groove to absorb and reduce noise generated upon full draw of the archery bow. A weighted idler may also be provided to reduce undesirable shock or recoil.

  • Patent number: 5520567
Abstract: A game call in the form of a diaphragm call includes an upwardly extending shelf which extends over a substantial portion of the latex membrane. The shelf provides a constant distance above the latex membrane to render the call easier to use and prevent the caller from damaging the latex membrane from upward pressure by the tongue. The shelf may be adjusted to vary the distance between the shelf and top surface of the latex membrane.

  • Patent number: 5484319
Abstract: A box call apparatus including a box frame and a hinged lid pivotally coupled to the box frame. The lid includes a main body section and a sound producing section for contacting the box frame. The main body section of the lid is injection molded. The sound producing section is mounted in a recessed area formed in the main body section. The sound producing section can be made of wood, etched glass, slate, or any suitable material. The relatively small sound producing section reduces the overall amount of fine tuning required in manufacturing the box call, and the overall cost and time required to produce the lid. The lid may include an arrangement for varying the weight along its length to fine tune the sounds produced by the box call.
