Abstract: A process for altering the appearance of hair, the process comprising the steps of (a) providing a composition for dyeing and reducing curl and/or frizziness of hair, said composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier: (i) at least one non-hydroxide base; (ii) at least one protein denaturant different from (a)(i); (iii) at least one dye chosen from oxidative dye precursors; (iv) at least one thickening agent; (v) optionally, at least one alkoxysilane comprising at least one solubilizing functional group; and (vi) optionally, at least one fatty substance; (b) contacting the hair with the composition in (a) to form treated hair; (c) smoothing the treated hair using a combination of heat and means for physically smoothing hair to form smoothed hair; (d) optionally, shampooing the smoothed hair; and (e) rinsing the smoothed hair.

Abstract: A process for styling a keratinous material involving providing a composition containing at least one silicone elastomer, at least one non-aqueous polar solvent, optionally, at least one styling polymer, optionally, at least one emulsifying agent; and a cosmetically acceptable co-solvent, other than the non-aqueous polar solvent; and applying said composition onto the keratinous material.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to sunscreen composition comprising: (a) at least one oil- and water repellent emulsifier chosen from polyperfluoroethoxymethoxy difluoroethyl PEG phosphate; (b) at least one hydrophobically-modified emulsifier chosen from inulin lauryl carbamate; (c) at least one gelling agent; and (d) sunscreen actives, and wherein the composition is water-resistant, while not requiring the use of a film-former, and is a stable emulsion.
