Abstract: A hydrocarbon feed pipe in a fluid catalytic cracking system includes a nozzle positioned in the upper section of the riser reactor pipe. This arrangement, together with one or more feed pipes at conventional locations in the riser reactor pipe, allows for feed segregation or feed splitting processes whereby different feed flow rates and/or compositions are fed to different points in the riser reactor pipe. Feed splitting/segregating processes provide for improved product yields and product properties.

Abstract: Disclosed are lubricating oil compositions for use in 2-cycle railroad diesel engines having silver surfaced engine parts, which composition comprises an effective amount of a silver wear inhibiting compound. A method for inhibiting wear of silver-surfaced parts in railroad engines and a drive train of a two-cycle railroad diesel engine comprising silver wrist-pin bearings and the lubricating oil composition comprising the wear-inhibitor are also disclosed.
Abstract: Essentially chlorine-free lubricating compositions having a TBN of 10-30 designed for use in internal combustion engines having silver bearing parts which provide protection for said bearings via the incorporation therein of certain unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids. An additive concentrate for said lubricating compositions is also disclosed.
Abstract: Provided are lubricating oil compositions which contain (a) a mixture comprising an oil-soluble alkali metal compound and certain polyalkenyl succinimide or (b) alkali metal salts of said polyalkenyl succinimides.
Abstract: A method for providing preemergent weed control in large seeded crops and certain medium and small seeded crops. The method comprises the preemergent application of certain 5-alkylamino-3-oxo-2-optionally substituted phenyl-4-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-4,5-dihydrofurans to control weeds in such crops.
