  • Patent number: 8344655
Abstract: A combined power and data track lighting system includes an elongated track, having a number of longitudinal guide ways for carrying electrically isolated power and data conductors arranged within at least some or the guide ways. An adapter applies power to the power conductors, and another adapter applies control data to the data conductors. An LED luminaire contains LEDs, each of which can generate a discrete color. A data converter converts data on the data lines to control the currents in the individual LEDs to create a desired composite color. Quartz luminaire, Metal-Halide luminaire, Digital Light Processor (DLP) automated computer luminaire, and DMX controlled devices can be supported and controlled through the track, that can be supported on trusses. The main control data is Remote Device Management (RDM) supplied applied to the data conductors.

  • Patent number: 8331247
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for code channel allocation and related multiuser detection in a wireless communication system. The method for code channel allocation includes: establishing a relation between at least one channel estimation window and a channelization code, wherein the at least one channel estimation window corresponding to the channelization code includes the channel estimation windows corresponding to all the spread spectrum code branches of a node in which the channelization code exists; and performing code channel allocation according to the relation established. In the method for code channel allocation of the invention, there exists a one-to-many relation between the channelization code/channelization code number established and the at least one channel estimation window. Therefore, during the multiuser detection, the channelization code/channelization code number determined via the at least one channel estimation window activated is unique.

  • Patent number: 8330031
Abstract: A high hat tambourine assembly includes a circular frame and a hub coextensive with the frame axis and has an elongate axial channel dimensioned to receive a rod of a high hat for free relative slidable movements. Quick-release arms are mounted on the hub and normally biased to provide an opening that is smaller than axial channel and having manually engageable gripping members that frictionally engage the rod with a force sufficient to normally secure said hub to the rod. The arms can be manually gripped by the hand of the user and actuated to separate the gripping members to enlarge the normally restricted opening to allow the rod to freely pass. A plurality of jingles are secured to the frame. The high hat tambourine assembly can be quickly and conveniently mounted on or released from the rod with one hand of the user.

  • Patent number: 8322371
Abstract: A ball seat valve, use thereof, and method for controlling a valve assembly comprising a ball seat valve, wherein the valve body has a chamber and a plurality of inlet openings in the chamber. The inlet openings together have an inflow area leading into the chamber through which a medium can flow, and wherein the medium flows through said openings simultaneously as these are connected to one another in parallel. The valve has a seat with an outlet opening leading out of the chamber through the valve body, and wherein the outlet opening has an outflow area leading out of the chamber through which the medium can flow. Additionally, the valve has a ball which is situated in the chamber so as to be displaceable to open up or block the outlet opening. It is advantageous that the plurality of inlet openings comprise more than 10, especially more than 50, individual such inlet openings, resulting in a decrease in pressure between the inflowing medium outside and that inside the chamber.

  • Patent number: 8316715
Abstract: The invention is a vibration sensor with a carrying element capable of being set into vibration; a conversion device having a field coil to set and/or tap the carrying element into vibration; an anchor mounted in the field coil; and, a vibration element to transmit the vibrations from the carrying element into/from a surrounding space. The anchor is designed as two parts, having a permanent magnet and a coil core connected to the field coil, with an air gap arranged therebetween and lying in the area of the axial extension of the field coil. The permanent magnet is connected to the carrying element to transmit vibrations; and, the field coil and the permanent magnet are arranged to interact in such a way that any vibration of the permanent magnet induces current flow in the field coil and/or induces vibration of the permanent magnet in the field coil.

  • Patent number: 8316894
Abstract: An adjustable knitting and weaving hand loom includes differently shaped elongate sections. Tabs and channels connect the sections to form a closed frame by connecting adjoining sections in end-to-end abutment. The tabs and mating channels form sliding joints between adjoining sections. Each of the sections is provided with a series of substantially uniformly spaced holes or bores. End-most holes through the tabs and the channels are aligned when the axial tabs are fully slidably mated within associated axial channels. Pegs are dimensioned to be received both within aligned end-most holes at each slip joint and intermediate holes. The pegs are inserted into aligned end-most bores or holes function both to secure yarn during knitting and to lock the axial tabs from inadvertently separating from mating axial channels by movements along the direction of insertion.

  • Patent number: 8307285
Abstract: The present invention comprises recording an audio file that is representative of a particular horn. Each audio file is stored in a memory that can be integrated within a single device together with a keypad, a display, a power source, and/or a data port. The device is accessed by the system user through a keypad. A display indicates to the user a set of choices from among the different audio files that can be accessed, and the user makes a choice. Entering of a request command to play the selected audio file causes the file to be played through one or more speakers, head phones, or store audio system. The system can also be linked to a printer that can print a receipt or a ticket corresponding to the selected horn type. The device can comprise a volume control; and, power to the system can be supplied by battery, AC, or both.

  • Patent number: 8299655
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for receiving and converting incident radiation into DC current. The method begins with selection of an antenna having a terminal tip with a sharp edge. The antenna is layered with a substrate and a first coating. A first electrode and a metallic/mCNT antenna are layered on the first coating, and a plasmonic layer is then added. A gap is formed which is bounded on one side by the terminal ends of the plasmonic layer and the first coating, and a second electrode and a second coating on the other. The second electrode is layered upon the second coating which is layered upon the substrate. A set of AC currents is induced along the length of the antenna. The method then calculates whether or not the induced AC currents are large enough to create voltages for field emission. If the voltages are large enough, then a forward bias and a reverse bias are initiated.
