  • Patent number: 5390653
Abstract: A two handed toss and catch toy has a pistol-like body with a drive spring biased trigger rod to store energy in a drive spring in response to a manual motion. The stored energy flings a ball upwardly when the trigger rod is released. An upwardly directed basket is provided for catching balls as they fall back to earth. A tunnel magazine extends from the basket to a position where the balls are struck by the trigger arm in order to recycle caught balls for the next flinging.

  • Patent number: 5022858
Abstract: A portable dental instrument sterilizing container adapted to be connected to a support which flanks a dental chair. The container has a top section, an internal middle section and a bottom section. The bottom section has a projection adapted to be inserted into a well formed in the support. The top section has a plurailty of holes to form dental instrument holding sockets. A portion of the top section is shaped so as to rest a drinking cup thereon. The middle section forms an internal container that is in communication with the sockets. The internal container has a suction port, a drainage port and sized such that the dental instruments within the sockets, project above the top section.

  • Patent number: 4912774
Abstract: An instantaneous voltage drop detector that comprises a power supply for a utilization circuit such as a mobile telephone. A first detector detects a drop in an output voltage of the power supply that falls below a first predetermined level. A second detector determines whether the first detection signal continues for more than a predetermined time. A control circuit responds to the first and second detection signals for controlling the utilization circuit.

  • Patent number: 4880075
Abstract: An anti-lock modulator unit is mounted adjacent to a front wheel fork of a motor cycle by a mounting plate which is secured to the axle. A drive pinion for the unit may be driven either directly, or through a belt drive, from a pinion which, in turn, is driven from the hub of the wheel, with the pinions located within a sealing recess between the plate and the casing.

  • Patent number: 4639548
Abstract: An error correction code data communication system scrambles and descrambles both non-coded data and coded data by using substantially the same code process at the opposite ends of a transmission path. The frequency of the occurrence of an error correction pulse in a decoder is monitored to set up synchronization for descrambling. The transmitter includes an encoder for adding a correction code to a data signal to be transmitted, and a scrambler for randomizing the data signal. The receiver includes a descrambler for descrambling the data signal which was randomized by the scrambler, and a decoder for correcting a code error responsive to the error correction code. The scrambler modulo 2 adds an output of a random signal generator to both an input data signal and an output data signal. The descrambler modulo 2 adds an output of a second random signal generator to both an input data signal and an output data signal.

  • Patent number: 4562352
Abstract: In an analyzing apparatus for use in analyzing a surface of an object by the use of Auger electrons resulting from impingement of an electron beam, outer and inner cylindrical electrode members are placed to define outer and inner rooms, respectively, and have a common cylindrical axis. The outer and the inner rooms have first outer and first inner ends adjacent to the object, respectively, and second outer and second inner ends remote from the object, respectively. An electron gun is operable to radiate the electron beam and is entered at least partly in the outer room with an electron gun axis noncoincident with the common cylinder axis. The electron gun axis and the common cylinder axis form a predetermined angle. An ion gun is also entered at least partly in the outer room with an ion gun axis noncoincident with the electron gun axis. Various kinds of detectors may be placed in the inner room.

  • Patent number: 4541348
Abstract: An automatic sewing machine for producing a seam having a fastening seam and a tacking seam is installed with a sewing head having a bearing bracket with two bearings which are arranged at a distance from each other for receiving a reciprocating needle bar including a needle. A sewing head comprises a drive mechanism to selectably impart jogging movements to the needle bar, wherein the movements form a transmitting ratio with respect to the reciprocating movement of the needle of 1:1 or 1:2.In order to render possible a shifting of the needle jogging movement during the operation of the machine and under full load, the two bearings guidingly receiving the reciprocating needle bar are oscillatingly drivable independently of each other wherein one bearing is oscillatable at a transmitting ratio of 1:2 and the other bearing is oscillatable at a transmitting ratio of 1:1. Both bearings are drivingly connected to individual drive parts each of which is independently engageable.

  • Patent number: 4535688
Abstract: A deep frying basket has a pair of welded wire spring baskets which nest together to define a dish shaped space between them. A pair of more or less spaced parallel wires are welded to each of the wire spring baskets, one pair being welded to the inside bottom of the inner basket and the other pair to the outside bottom of the outer basket. In one embodiment, the two pairs are hinged together on one side of the baskets and formed into handles on the other side of the baskets. At least one pair of the wires is shaped to form a stand which facilitates a loading and unloading of a food product in the defined space.
