Abstract: A terminal plate, an insulating plate, and an end plate are stacked on a stack body. The terminal plate has current collectors at least at lower portions of an oxygen-containing gas supply passage, a coolant supply passage, a fuel gas discharge passage, a fuel gas supply passage, a coolant discharge passage, and an oxygen-containing gas discharge passage. The current collectors contact the water generated in the reaction or a coolant for collecting electricity.
Abstract: A method and system is provided that allows a well-behaved program to execute more quickly than dynamically typed programming languages did in the past, thereby allowing a the dynamically typed language to be competitive with static declarative programming languages. A method includes converting lines of source code representing functions to byte-codes representing functions, selecting a subsequence of the byte-codes based on the byte-codes and the dynamic run-time properties of program variables, generating processor instructions in a compiler for the subsequence, and interpreting the byte-codes not contained in the subsequence.

Abstract: A tool that can be used in connection with a programming or modeling environment is disclosed. The tool can be incorporated into the programming or modeling environment or implemented separately from the programming or modeling environment. The tool receives the execution or simulation results data of the programs or models from the programming or modeling environment, and analyzes the data to provide information on the execution results of the programs or models to a user, such as a programmer and a designer. The information is provided to the user in such a manner that the user can perceive the execution results easily.
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product to define and utilize functions graphically is provided which may be used in the simulation of finite state machines. The functions may combine mathematical, logical, non-linear and comparative operations. The graphical elements of the function may be hidden for ease of display of various portions of a model.
Abstract: Methods and systems for the design and execution of an aerospace or aeronautic system are provided. The aerospace or aeronautic system may incorporate planetary environment models and models of equations of motion. The planetary environment models mathematically represent planetary environment specifications, such as atmosphere and wind. Atmosphere models include standard day atmosphere models and non-standard day atmosphere models, and wind models include continuous wind turbulence models and discrete wind turbulence models. The models of equations of motion include models of three-degree-of-freedom equations of motion with variable mass and models for six-degree-of-freedom equations of motion with variable mass. As a result, the present invention can design and execute a target system more accurately than the conventional system that provides only standard day planetary environment models, continuous wind turbulence models, or fixed mass equations of motion models.
Abstract: An end structure for a pipe is provided, through which air is drawn from a lower position to an upper position relative to a vertical direction of a vehicle. An area of an opening at an end of the pipe is adapted to be greater than a cross section area of the pipe.
Abstract: An elongate gas distributing tube, which extends in a longitudinal direction of a container, is accommodated within the container that constitutes a gas storage container. Discharge ports, through which the gas is discharged, are provided only on a side circumferential wall of the gas distributing tube. Therefore, the discharged gas advances while being directed toward the inner side wall of the container. The gas distributing tube is surrounded by a gas absorbing/adsorbing material. On the other hand, the gas absorbing/adsorbing material is surrounded by a mixture, which is prepared by mixing the gas absorbing/adsorbing material with a heat storage material, such that heat is absorbed by the heat storage material contained therein.
Abstract: A method includes in a system determining a constraint for constraining operation of a portion of a block diagram model, determining if the portion of the block diagram model violates the constraint, and providing a user information based on the violating of the first constraint.

Abstract: A brushless motor has a first coupler that includes a molded body with an annular member and a plug integrally combined with a peripheral side wall of the annular member. The plug houses terminal rods therein. Bridges project radially inward from an inner peripheral wall surface of the annular member. Connectors joined to respective leads that extend from an electromagnetic coil are mounted on radial inner ends of the bridges. The bridges axe provided in pairs of adjacent bridges. In each of such pairs, the bridges project in parallel with each other from an inner peripheral wall surface of the annular member.
Abstract: Disclosed is a driver-assistance vehicle including one or more lighting members which are placed within peripheral vision of a driver and which are arranged on respective sides of the vehicle. Furthermore, the driver-assistance vehicle includes a vehicle behavior sensing unit for predicting or sensing a state of the vehicle, and a light controller for controlling the lighting members, based on the sensed state. With this driver-assistance vehicle, the driver can be assisted in distributing his attention.
Abstract: A mechanical composite seal assembly for providing a seal between a rotating shaft and a static surface. The mechanical composite seal assembly includes first and second axially adjacent annular seal elements. The first and second seal elements each include a sealing edge contacting the shaft to provide a respective seal between the first and second seal element and the shaft. A static housing receives the first and second seal elements and engages the static surface to provide a static stationary seal, while concomitantly providing a flex region that engages the seal elements to form a dynamic seal therewith.

Abstract: Flow guides forming an inlet channel are formed on a surface of a metal separator of a fuel cell. The flow guides overlap a section of an outer seal provided on the other surface of the metal separator. When a load is applied to the flow guides and the overlapping section in a stacking direction of the fuel cell, the flow guides and the overlapping section are deformed substantially equally in the stacking direction to the same extent. The line pressure of the flow guides and the line pressure of the overlapping section are substantially the same. The seal length L1 of the flow guides and the seal length L2 of the overlapping section are substantially the same.
