  • Patent number: 5136914
Abstract: A music emulator for emulating guitar sounds uses non-guitar like devices, as for instance a piano style keyboard, for input. Input from the keyboard within a time window is defined as simultaneous and entered into a note list. A signal is derived from the note list indicative of the chord played on the keyboard. In addition, notes in the note list can be extended to form a full chord whereby as few as three notes constituting a chord input at the keyboard are extended to a greater number of notes as, for instance, the six strings of a guitar. This signal is then outputted at a time rate which is extended with respect to the input time window whereby the output emulates a guitar strum including an arpeggiation or strumming effect of a guitar like sound. Chord extension is achieved by analyzing the notes in the note list as to their pitch and generating further notes which are outside the typical one octave range of a keyboard chord and extend to the typical four octave window of a guitar.

  • Patent number: 5135335
Abstract: Apparatus for simultaneously driving two parallel pile members that function to raise and reposition building foundation structures. The apparatus consists of a foundation support member, a frame assembly removably attached to the foundation support member, and a hydraulic ram and pile gripping assembly supported within said frame assembly. Alternately, the apparatus consists of a foundation support member, a pile gripping assembly, and a hydraulic ram removably interconnected between said foundation support member and said pile gripping assembly. As the hydraulic ram is actuated, the pile gripping assembly grips the pile members upon the start of downward movement relative to the pile members and completion of the stroke drives the pile members into the earth to a predetermined point of resistance. The apparatus then functions to raise and reposition the foundation after which the foundation is held in place by the pile members.

  • Patent number: 5132011
Abstract: A treater apparatus for separating mixed oil, water and gas into these components and including an elongated tank having a first end and an opposite, second end. A horizontally extending partition plate extends across the first end portion of the tank below a heater tube. The mixture is introduced to a point below one end of the plate, then reverses flow along the heater and over the partition plate until it contacts a vertically extending, transverse corrugated baffle plate. The longitudinal flow of the mixture is reversed several times as it flows over the heater tube and against the crenulated baffle plate. Water separates from the oil, and gas moves to the top of the tank and is removed by a vertical pipe. In the opposite, second end of the tank, a T-shaped partition plate subassembly further separates oil and water, and directs each into a separate removal chamber defined within the tank.

  • Patent number: 5130628
Abstract: A three-phase transformer includes six windings, disposed in three pairs, all of which six windings are serially interconnected. A desired turns ratio between the two windings of each pair establishes a desired phase shift between one three-phase output of the connected windings and a second three-phase output of the windings. These two windings can be used in combination to drive a load, such as an induction motor, such as through a twelve pulse rectifier requiring two three-phase outputs out of phase by 30.degree.. Alternately, one of the three-phase outputs can be used to supply the full load of the motor directly. This is particularly useful in a electric submersible pumping system having a three-phase induction motor which is normally operated by a maintenance intensive twelve-pulse rectifier, which motor needs to be directly driven through a by-pass motor controller when the rectifier is in maintenance.

  • Patent number: 5130616
Abstract: A motor control system includes a single, multicompartment enclosure mounted on a skid. The enclosure contains a transformer circuit and a motor controller circuit interconnected so that only external connections to a power source and a load are heeded. When the circuits are energized, access to high voltage motor control components and to field replaceable fuses and output selection switches is provented by a double interlocking mechanism which operates in conjunction with energizing and de-energizing the transformer. The transformer of the transformer circuit includes a tertiary winding disposed radially between a primary winding and a secondary winding. The winding filters electrostatically coupled transients. A conventional electrostatic shield is also used so that the transformer is doubly shielded to electrostatic transients. The tertiary winding is connected to one or more capacitors to filter magnetically coupled transients.
