  • Patent number: 8340843
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the speed of an aircraft that is subject to a time constraint. The invention consists no longer in calculating a single CAS/MACH pair during climb/descent but in adapting the speed in a continuous manner to the bounds of curves of minimum Vmin and maximum Vmax speed defining a flight envelope of the aircraft. The calculation of these speeds is carried out on the basis of constant maximum and minimum speed setpoints and of a coefficient taking into account a deviation to the time constraint.

  • Patent number: 8314846
Abstract: The invention relates to matrix image sensors, and it relates more particularly to a method for correcting the spatial noise generated by the dispersion of the physical properties of the different individual sensitive dots, or pixels, of the matrix. For each pixel, in an individual electronic circuit associated with the pixel, a recursively digital method is used to determine an approximate value (Mij,n) of an average of the signal Sij,n obtained from the pixel during this large number of images; the signal obtained from each pixel is corrected according to the determined approximate average value and according to a reference average value (M0), and a corrected signal S*ij,n is transmitted from the circuit associated with the pixel.

  • Patent number: 8310337
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system for state or status sensing of devices for a remote control or remote controlled system. The devices status indicator system 101 comprises a hand held remote control device 109, device status indicator 104, 106, 107, and device 103, 111, 112. In the alternative, a smart control device 110 can be used with or without a hand held remote control device 109. When the device 103, 111, 112 is turned ON or OFF in the remote controlled system, the device status indicator 104, 106, 107 will send a signal 102, 105, 108 to the remote control device 109 and/or the smart control device 110. This signal 102, 105, 108 triggers information to be stored in the remote control device 109 and/or the smart control device 110 that indicates that the device 103, 111, 112 is in an ON or OFF state.

  • Patent number: 8292459
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of illumination devices compatible with the use of night vision goggles comprising a light intensifier. The device according to the invention comprises a carpet of three types of light-emitting diodes called green diodes, blue diodes and red diodes emitting in three different spectral bands centered respectively on a first wavelength situated in the green, a second wavelength situated in the blue and a third wavelength situated in the red. The device comprises an optical plate disposed above the carpet of diodes, the zones situated above certain of the red diodes comprising an interferential filter whose optical transmission has a cutoff wavelength situated in the red in the vicinity of 630 nanometers, the height of the interferential filter above the diode and the shape of the filter being chosen so as to filter in part the light emitted by the red diode so as to be compatible with the use of night vision goggles.

  • Patent number: 8282045
Abstract: The invention relates to a craft comprising an energy storage system of the RFCS (regenerative fuel cell system) type and a system for pressurizing the propellants used for propulsion. The craft also comprises a plurality of means (31 to 38) for coupling the tanks of the fuel cell to the propellant-pressurizing tanks of the propulsion system of the craft when the tanks of the propellant-pressurizing system are no longer used. The invention also relates to the method of coupling the tanks of the propellant-pressurizing means to the energy storage system. The invention applies particularly to telecommunication satellites and more generally to spacecraft.

  • Patent number: 8275499
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for formulating a flight plan ensuring sufficient safety margins for a duration of a few minutes in relation to the set of flight constraints that could arise and comprising means for: detecting the surrounding moving objects (aircraft or meteorological phenomena), evaluating their type and the danger that they represent, formulating a reconfiguration flight plan ensuring a separation with these phenomena and taking best account of the constraints of the initially followed flight plan, avoiding prohibited or regulated airspaces and avoiding the surrounding relief with ad hoc operational margins.

  • Patent number: 8274349
Abstract: A tap-switching autotransformer for regulating the voltage supplied to a facility includes an electronics sub-assembly for controlling switching of the taps. The electronics sub-assembly and the windings are contained in a housing from which the electronics sub-assembly may be removed for repair or replacement. The electronics sub-assembly is adapted to enable an electronically actuated switch to short-circuit two of the taps. A mechanical switch enables a separate short-circuit to be maintained between the taps to enable the electronics sub-assembly to be safely removed from the housing.
