Abstract: Systems and methods are described which produce a catalog from a previously existing database. The method defines catalog data fields and links same to the data fields of the database. In one embodiment, the method scans the database for its dat fields and automatically uses same as the catalog data fields. This improves the efficiency of catalog production because a publisher need not be trained as to what data is in the database. The method further automatically formats the data from the data base into a catalog. In another embodiment, the method automatically produces a table of contents and an index. The present method can produce the catalog in multiple formats, including electronic, portable document format, rich text format, and printed.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an optical transport system and device that conserves power, provides for efficient transport of photonic signals and is capable to accommodate a number of different nodes. The system and device are implemented with the major components at the nodes to provide easy maintenance. In a first aspect, the disclosure is directed to an optical transport system that provides for low power and efficient transport of photonic signals. The optical transport system can be implemented with a plurality of similar or identical network interface units that correspond with each node of the system. Also disclosed is an optical transport system architecture having an example architecture that includes a primary system and a secondary system, which is redundant to the primary system and is adapted to be operational when the primary system is inactive, or an example architecture that includes just a primary system.
Abstract: A header height control system and a method for improving the responsiveness of a header height control system. A height sensor is disposed with respect to the header to generate a signal varying in magnitude with respect to changes in distance between a preestablished point on the header and the ground. The magnitude of the generated signal when the header is at a predefined set point is determined. For generated signal magnitudes indicating the header is below the set point, the signal magnitudes are operably modified by applying a gain value. For generated signal magnitudes indicating the header is above the set point, the signal magnitudes may be modified by applying a different gain value. The application of a gain value or different gain values depending on the height of the header above or below the set point improves the responsiveness of the header height control system to changes in terrain.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved motor current sensor and methods thereof. A first embodiment of the present invention provides a circuit having a signal transfer unit for receiving first and second input signals from opposing terminals of a shunt resistor and a signal conditioner unit for conditioning output signals from the signal transfer unit for a low power control unit. A second embodiment of the present invention provides a circuit having a signal conditioner unit for receiving first and second input signals from opposing terminals of a shunt resistor and delivering output signals to a signal transfer unit and finally to a level shifter for providing first and second voltage signals to a control unit.
Abstract: A seed tube for an agricultural planter having a rearwardly curving forward wall, a rearwardly curving rearward wall and opposing sidewalls defining a seed passageway which curves rearwardly from an upper ingress end toward a lower egress end. Wear resistant material is disposed proximate the egress end which provides a point of first contact with the opener disks thereby preventing appreciable wear of the egress end of the seed tube.

Abstract: A bracket assembly for supporting seed planting appurtenances in substantial alignment with respect to a seed tube of an agricultural planter. The bracket assembly includes a shaft mount and a shank mount.
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and removing moisture and contaminants from fuel stored in a tank includes optical fiber for examining the fuel for moisture and contaminants, a light source and a lens; a suction hose insertable into the tank; a pump connected to the suction hose, a waste holding container for receiving moisture and contaminants; a contaminant filter connected to the return hose; and a valve between the pump outlet, the waste holding container and the contaminant filter inlet.
Abstract: An improved method for measuring and automatically disposing of infectious waste generated during and after surgical and clinical procedures is provided. The infectious waste removal device includes a suction source, a method for pressure verification, separation chamber for isolating fluids, containment reservoir, measurement chamber for determining fluid received, an information source for such fluid volumes, a quantitative method for calculating fluid dynamics, a post use cleaning method, and other attributes for use by the surgical team or healthcare staff in order to while minimize healthcare worker handling of said infectious waste and to limit their possible exposure.
Abstract: A fiber optic transceiver incorporating a lens array with an integrated mirror and method of creating the same is disclosed. The transceiver includes the lens array and transceiver housing used to convert optical signals to electrical signals. The lens array includes a fiber side that can be connected to a fiber optic connector. The lens array also has a device side that can be connected to a photodetector. The lens array also includes a mirror that is positioned to transmit an optical signal received from the fiber side to the device side. Both the fiber side and the device include lenses used to provide focused transmission of optical signals. Accordingly, optical signals can be transmitted from a fiber optic connector to a photodetector in a compact and efficient manner at high bandwidths.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for removing a test plug from a vent when positioned at a remote location with respect to the vent. The apparatus includes a cover having a handle section and base, the cover being visible from a remote location with respect to the vent. The apparatus further includes a retainer coupled to the cover by a connecting sleeve. The test plug is maintained between the cover and retainer and is removable from the vent by forcibly engaging the apparatus with a retrieval device configured to extend from the remote location to the vent.
Abstract: A vacuum meter and a retrofit kit. The retrofit kit is particularly adapted for modifying or retrofitting vacuum meters configured with the centerline of the seed discharge chute or seed tube offset from the seed-side face of the seed disk, examples of which include the John Deere MaxEmerge® family of vacuum meters. The vacuum meter and retrofit includes an offset disk having a seed plane disposed in substantial alignment with a central axis of the discharge chute the vacuum meter housing.
