  • Patent number: 5319628
Abstract: A device for recording a sequence of information signals on a record carrier includes a signal presence detector which detects the presence of the information signals to be recorded on the basis of the information therein. Recording is terminated if the presence of such information has not been detected at least for a predetermined time interval (T3; T1). A new recording is initiated in reaction to a transition from a state in which the presence of information to be recorded is not detected, to a state in which the presence of such information is detected. In the case of a received analog information signal the presence of information to be recorded is established on the basis of the level of such signal. For a received digital audio information signal, the presence of information to be recorded is detected on the basis of the subcode information and audio information in such signal.
