Abstract: This invention relates to an improved smoke generator. In particular it relates to a method and apparatus for producing dense smoke clouds for camouflage purposes utilizing a solid propellant.
Abstract: A system for automatically dispensing metered amounts of viscous product in assembly-line fashion into each of a series of containers, wherein the temperature of the product is maintained within a preselected range along its path of flow. Structure is provided for substantially reducing product leakage along the path of flow, including a pneumatically actuated shut-off valve which operates in the nozzle in synchronism with each piston stroke. Structure is also provided for precisely adjusting the individual piston strokes.
Abstract: Enhanced resistance to the corrosion of metals such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium and the like is achieved by the application of a metallo-gel film. The composition of the coating uniquely includes liquid manganese nitrate and sodium tungstate as accelerators which accelerate and activate the chromate sources to coat the metal surface being treated.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving the surface characteristics of wax-based material such as a deodorant or anti-perspirant stick housed in a container is provided. The apparatus comprises a hollow walled housing having an inlet and outlet portion. A plurality of rows of horizontally mounted endless conveyors each comprised of a plurality of interconnected conveyor feet are mounted in the housing for moving containers therethrough in reciprocating fashion. A plurality of spaced separators are mounted between the rows and containers move sequentially through these rows from the inlet to the outlet of the housing. A duct system is connected with the housing for circulating air through the housing and creating a reduced pressure therein. A plurality of heating units arranged in sequence are mounted over the rows which units are capable of melting the wax-based material.
Abstract: Separation of liquid mixtures is achieved through a chromatographic method by employing centrifugal force in combination with dielectrophoretic force. The dielectrophoretic force is generated by electrostatically charging a flat rotatable surface. The resulting non-uniform electrical field acts on the liquid that is applied to the surface.
Abstract: A drainage device for a plant pot or receptacle wherein said drainage device is set into the drainhole located at the center of the base of said plant pot, said drain device becoming integral with the pot, wherein the drainage device allows fluid to seep horizontally into the drainage device and, thereafter, drain out of pot thereby preventing fluid from accumulating within the pot. The device is comprised of a perforated cylinder with hemispherical top, a disc perpendicular and attached to the exterior of the cylinder, and an imperforate cylinder below the disc.
Abstract: The invention provides a multiple pants hanger for supporting a plurality of pairs of pants. The hanger includes a plurality of horizontally extending parallel bars each substantially wider than thick, means for securing the bars together in a spaced relationship so that at one end the bars are free and unconnected and so that slots are formed between each bar and an adjoining bar with the slot ends being open at the free ends of the bars. The inside adjoining faces of the bars on each side of one of the slots is essentially flat and lie in vertical planes so that the fabric of the legs of a pair of pants positioned in one of the slots is in frictional contact with the adjoining side faces of adjacent bars over substantially the full length and width thereof.
Abstract: A technique and system for facilitiating intraocular and other microsurgery comprising a lighter-irrigator tube which utilizes a central light guide to conduct light into the area of the surgery along the fluid infusion pathway. An auxiliary to the lighter-irrigator comprises a fiber optic work cord or light pipe characterized by light transmission and light dispersion along its path between a light source and the lighter-irrigator, and which may be utilized alone, or with other similar auxiliary cords, to provide low level lighting to the work areas, so that adequate work light is provided for the surgical assistants and aneasthesiologists, while maintaining maximum visualization for the surgeon.

Abstract: A demolition tool is provided with an extractor for removing the chisel or drill from the working surface. The extractor is a piston equipped with a foot which maintains contact with the work surface. When the tool is to be extracted the piston is actuated to press down on the working surface causing the chisel or drill to be forced upward.
Abstract: A portable exercise device for use with the user's legs at various locations. The device comprises a curved frame having feet for resting on a surface and handlebars for gripping the device, and a pedal arrangement. The pedal arrangement is adjustable to require different degrees of force to be applied to the pedals while in use.
Abstract: This invention relates to the use of two or more polymeric materials combined together forming a composite, layered structure for use in microwave oven cookware or similar types of application.
