  • Patent number: 7665710
Abstract: The present invention relates to ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) building technology, offering an enhancement to existing practices by presenting a structure and method that enables concrete to be placed and shaped at any angle. In addition, the present invention provides a structure and method that offers aesthetic alternatives to flat surfaces characteristic of existing concrete forming building techniques.

  • Patent number: 7625373
Abstract: An anchoring fastener is adapted for attaching an elastic cable to a substrate, and is suitable for use in stabilizing and fixating a bony fracture with an elastic cable having known diameter and elastic properties. The invention includes: a generally annular collar, a deformable centering ring seatable inside the annular collar, and an anchor post adapted to be passed through the annular collar and ring. A loop or bight of cable passed around a shoulder of the anchor post is retained under compression in a defined annular void defined between a shoulder of the post and a cylindrical bore in the annular collar.

  • Patent number: 7604141
Abstract: A modular housing unit is fabricated from an intermodal cargo container. The rectangular box comprising the cargo container is cut into three sections. A right triangular section is fabricated from a center portion. The remaining portion is folded to form a ā€œLā€-shaped structure. The triangular section is reinserted into the vertex of the ā€œLā€ to form a substantially triangular housing unit. A door is cut therein to provide means for entering the building. Intermodal cargo containers ranging from 20-53 feet in length can thus be employed to provide up to 424 square feet of living space.

  • Patent number: 7568944
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a slotted compression ring for a coaxial cable connector. The connector comprises a tubular body portion having a leading end and a trailing end with a connector nut attached to the leading end thereof. The connector has a tubular shell slidably mounted over the trailing end of the body portion. The body portion further includes a tubular shank coaxially mounted therewithin and extending reanvardly from the leading end thereof. The slotted ring is removably diposed within an axial lumen in the shell. When a prepared end of a coaxial cable is inserted through the compression ring into body portion and the shell advanced over the body portion, the slotted ring buckes inwardly against the cable to securely hold the cable within the connector.

  • Patent number: 7328926
Abstract: A patient support system adapted for attachment to the chassis of a vehicle. The vehicle has a cargo bed and a midline bisecting the cargo bed. The assembly includes a chassis mounting portion adapted to be attached to a side wall in the bed of the vehicle, a lateral adjustment mechanism attached to the chassis mounting portion and a litter supporting portion attached to the lateral adjustment mechanism. The assembly permits the litter supporting portion to be positioned near or over the midline of the cargo bed to facilitate the loading of a litter onto the litter supporting portion. After the litter lockingly engages the litter supporting portion, the litter supporting portion can be repositioned laterally with respect to the midline of the vehicle bed. In a preferred embodiment, two assemblies, each of which is a mirror image of the other, are attached to opposing walls in the cargo bed of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7169086
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for teaching the proper position of a user's wrist while paying the piano. The device includes a rod and two supports. The rod is long enough to span the length of a piano keyboard. The rod is deployed in a way that encourages proper positioning of the wrist by simply occupying the space that would otherwise be occupied by an incorrectly positioned wrist. The two support pieces are positioned at both ends of the keyboard and fit snugly over its surface. A trough for supporting the weight of the piano rod is configured into each of the support pieces.

  • Patent number: 6851216
Abstract: A universal guide is a base of a fishing line guide assembly designed to conform to the outside radius of a round rod or to the flat surface of a rod having a polygonal cross section. The guide is preferably helical. The base has a curved top side, a segmented underside, and tips at the toes of the guide. The underside has a concave portion and a flat portion. The concave portion comprises the center of the segmented underside and extends the length thereof. The surface of the concave portion is designed to conform to the outside diameter of a round rod. The flat portion flanks both sides of the central concave portion and also extends the length of the guide foot. The surfaces of the flat portion are designed to match the outside surface of a standard fishing rod having a polygonal cross section. The guide foot tips taper the thickness of the base from the top surface to the underside enabling a smooth transition for wrapping at the guide-rod interface.

  • Patent number: 6620626
Abstract: A monitor having a hollow semipermeable casing with a test strip is agitated in a sample volume of suspect liquid. The monitor is partially filled with tiny colored beads confined to its interior by the size of the openings in the semipermeable structure. Adhered to the beads are antibodies matched to the antigen characterizing the suspect substance. The test strip is segregated into collection and control regions. Antibodies matched to the suspect antigen are adhered only to the collection region. If the sample fluid contains the suspect substance, it will bind to both the bead antibodies and the collector antibodies, resulting in an accumulation of colored beads in the collection region but not the control region. A significant color differential between the two is a positive indication of the suspect substance. This invention has significant potential in screening for the date rape drugs, GHB and rohypnol.
