  • Patent number: 7778349
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting information contained in a transmission signal via at least one channel includes a number of processing steps at the transmitter end. At least one pulse sequence with at least one pulse is produced as stipulated by the transmission signal. The pulse sequence is output to the at least one channel. The channel is monitored for the presence of an interference signal. If an interference signal is detected on the channel, the pulse sequence is repeated.

  • Patent number: 7748247
Abstract: A method regulating flatness of a metal strip at a roll housing output including at least one dynamic flatness actuator. A rolling process characterizes flatness of the strip by measuring a quantity D in n points distributed across the strip width, from n measurements of the quantity D. Then, using an action model of flatness regulation and an optimizing method, an overall setpoint including at least one elementary setpoint is determined for the dynamic actuator, such that a calculated flatness residual defect criterion is minimal, and executing the overall setpoint. The action model on the flatness used for determining the overall setpoint includes, for the dynamic actuator, as many submodels as there are points for measuring the quantity D characteristic of flatness, each submodel enabling the effect of the dynamic actuator on the quantity D to be calculated at the corresponding point when a setpoint is applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 7751906
Abstract: The object is to provide a method for operating and/or observing at least one field device in the simplest possible manner. A first central control device which executes the automation engineering software generates a first command to control the at least one field device and transmits the first command to the at least one field device. At least a second central control device which executes the automation engineering software generates a similar second command for controlling the at least one field device and transmits the second command to the at least one field device. The at least one field device receives the transmitted first and second commands and executes at least one of the received commands. An automation system for carrying out the method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6255684
Abstract: A DRAM cell configuration includes a vertical MOS transistor per memory cell. First source/drain regions of the transistor each belong to two adjacent transistors and adjoin a bit line. Second source/drain regions of the transistor are connected to a storage node. A gate electrode of the transistor has exactly two sides adjoined by a gate oxide. The DRAM cell configuration can be produced by using three masks, with a memory cell area of 4 F2. F is a minimum structure size which can be produced by using the respective technology.

  • Patent number: 5256961
Abstract: A method for measuring various measurable variables with a multimeter includes specifying one of a plurality of measurable variables to be determined through a position of a measurement range switch and/or through a selection between various input connections respectively assigned to the measurable variables. Input circuits are assigned to respective measurable variables. A preliminary test is performed for at least one of the measurable variables to check if an input circuit is suitable for picking up an applied test signal, before an actual main measurement is carried out. A given input circuit is enabled for picking up the test signal only if the preliminary test has shown that the test signal is suitable for the given input circuit. An error signal is issued if a test signal being unsuitable for the given input circuit ensues. A multimeter for measuring various measurable variables includes a measurement range switch and/or various input connections for specifying a measurable variable to be picked up.
