Abstract: Method for the application of colored or uncolored decorations of transparent, opaque or opal glass or crystal glass to objects of preferably blown, press-casted, injection molded or centrifugally casted glass or crystal, according to which the object after an initial forming step is placed in a substantially tight fitting form (3), along the form surface of which decorational glass is pressed into created spaces (4) and fills the same. The invention also related to an arrangement for carrying out the method.

Abstract: In a sealing arrangement between a tubular housing (2) and a rod (1) in a rail vehicle slack adjuster, a cup (3) is movable with the rod and extends along the rod over the free end of the housing. A sealing arrangement (6-9) is in sealing engagement with the housing (2). It comprises flange-like portions (6', 7), extending into close proximity with the inner wall of the cup for forming a labyrinth seal, and a sealing lip (9') in sealing contact with the end of the cup for preventing the intrusion of water and the like in the cup.

Abstract: A centrifugal force salad green spinning system is improved for use with delicate fruits and vegetables such as strawberries and delicate herbs by inserting a secondary receptacle basket with reduced diameter sidewalls into the primary rotary spinning receptacle basket thereby to reduce the magnitude of centrifugal force exerted upon contents of the secondary receptacle basket.

Abstract: The low-loss pinion drive has a housing (2) in which the gear wheels are fitted in radial bearings (3) and preferably also an additional inner housing (4) enclosing the pinions (1) as closely as possible. At least the air and preferably also the lubricating and cooling oil can be evacuated from the inner casing chamber (9). The air is evacuated by a pump which is also suitable for removing the oil. The air can be replaced by a gas of substantially lower density than air.

Abstract: In a method and a cooking machine for continuously heat treating a food product the heat transfer to the food product is accomplished on a conveyor (5) in a processing chamber (2) from above by means of convection from a heat transfer medium and from below by means of heating means (8) heating the underside of the food product. The heat transfer from below is accomplished by direct contact of the underside of the food product (6) with the conveyor (5), the conveyor being a continuous flat non-perforated belt comprising a plastic material.

Abstract: A superior performance highway striping system is provided with various features including single person operation for different kinds of striping requirements and simplified automatic tracking around curved striping patterns provided by articulation at a ball joint between a towing truck and trailer paint striping unit. A common non-dedicated pick-up truck tows a trailer mounted modular paint striping system that may be broken down into a hand pushed parking lot type of striper sub-system or a ride behind motorized airport runway striper sub-system for a versatility of operational environments with one or two coat striping in multiple colors and widths. The towed trailer carries two 55 gallon paint drums of different colored paint, loaded and unloaded by a one person loading winch. Thus, the striping system controlled by a single person provides the versatility of on-highway and off-highway striping.

Abstract: Liquid propane gas tanks for vehicles, and cylindrical tanks in particular, wherein end (1) of cylinder (2) is provided with a cavity (3) housing the valve group ring (4), or the valve rings in the case of the embodiment designed for the foreign market, shaped in such a manner as to fit perfectly inside the cavity; in the preferred embodiment, the cavity has walls (6) and (7) at right angles and placed in the curved end (1) of the cylinder (2) so as to be flush-mounted with the end (1) of cylinder (2).

Abstract: This invention provides a device which facilitates electrical wiring and equipment costs for electricians installing disconnect boxes, typically in the vicinity of an outside air conditioner unit. Thus, an improved disconnect box for protection of an electrician who is servicing an electrical appliance such as an outside air conditioner is provided which incorporates an integrally mounted auxiliary electric socket accessory giving the electrician a source of power for use while the electrician is safely assured that there is no power connected to the electrical appliance being serviced. The auxiliary electrical socket accessory may optionally be connected to a power line source as a full time electric plug outlet or one only accessible when the disconnect box is conditioned to disconnect power from the electrical appliance. Provisions are made for protection of the electrical socket accessory with fusing or circuit breaker protection and ground fault protected electrical input wiring to the electrical socket.

Abstract: A tread brake unit for applying a brake block (3) against the tread of a rail vehicle wheel comprises a pneumatic cylinder (1) having a piston (9) with a piston rod (11). A block holder (2) for the brake block is pivotably connected to the piston rod by a pivot sleeve (19) rotatably attached in the end of the piston rod facing the block holder, which is provided with a circular surface (25) for engagement with the pivot sleeve, a structure (20, 22, 23) being provided for keeping the block holder connected to the pivot sleeve.

Abstract: In a sound generator of the type having a motor powered piston (7-9) limiting a chamber (18) connected to a resonance tube (16) and which is adapted to generate sound waves for cleaning heat exchange surfaces, the piston (7-9) is according the invention provided with two axially spaced piston membranes (8, 9) and a device (19) for establishing a vacuum between the two membranes (8, 9) and thus ensuring only tensile stresses in membranes (8, 9) thereby increasing their life time.

Abstract: This invention provides improved automated methods and systems for color processing on personal computers whereby an interactive user may intervene to introduce creative and selective choices. Various automatic coloring procedures process coloring. Visual color reproduction is standardized for visual image reproduction using a color gamut matching that of a computer monitor. The color artist may exchange groups of colors automatically en masse. For example, several colors of an image may be changed simultaneously by rotation of hues about a color wheel icon. The system has a novel operating system enriched by abstract notational format and visual shorthand icons. About 600 standardized sample colors proportioned across different color gamuts comprise color standard collections storing recipes for permitting faithful colored image viewing and reproduction of the sample colors on different output devices.

Abstract: A modular link of a conveyor belt is provided with belt edge structure for retaining in the belt so that it may not escape or protrude from a belt edge a headless pivot rod journalled in apertures in interdigitated link ends interconnecting adjacent links. The retention structure provides a shuttling plug movable into two bistable positions within a mating shuttle cavity having an open end and a blind end. The cavity extends transversely in the link between two link end pivot rod journalling apertures to intersect only one journalling aperture. The two bistable states for the shuttle plug respectively (1) lock the headless pivot rod in place in a stable pivot rod occluding position extending into said journalling aperture, and (2) permits the headless pivot rod to enter or leave the journalled position by movement of the shuttle plug out of the occluding position into a second stable position.

Abstract: A storage safe is especially adapted for storage of hand guns having a substantially parallelepiped shaped exterior body and internal compartment for holding a hand gun in position for grasping ready to fire. Fast access to the gun under emergency conditions is provided by a novel internal spring biased latching mechanism locking the access door closed. The safe may be immediately opened by operating a hidden unlatching trigger from outside the safe and opening the door in an unconventional manner.

This pet food is low fat, low cholesterol and low calorie and provides a healthy, nutritional pat snack.

Abstract: The dry coupling includes a typical shaft to shaft coupling, conformed to body the invention by inclusion of two hub parts (4) with hub flanges (5,5') bonded thereunto and also an intermediate tube (6) interconnecting the flanges with respective flanges (7), each forming a membrane. For transmitting a torque the flanges are coupled to adjacent hub flanges (5). It is important that all parts (4,5;6,7) possibly except connecting elements (8) consist of a high modulus fiber reinforced material (FVW). Preferably the hubs consist of a carbon fiber reinforced material (CFK) and the intermediate tube of a more flexible GFK.

Abstract: A novel hook assembly forms two hooks at the end of a single elastic length of wire which spreads the hooks elastically apart in a fish hooking posture. This hook forms the active mechanism of a weedless, self setting fishing lure, where the hooks are compressed for retention weedlessly within a hollow lure in one stable position and are released by a tug on the line from a fish bite to spring the hooks apart and set the hooks in the fish. The novel simplified weedless lure array employs a spring biassed dual-hook assembly and latch permitting the two hooks to be cocked into an elastically biased weed free bistable position inside the lure for automatic triggered release by a tug on the fishline to catch a striking fish by snapping the hooks into a second bistable position with the two hooks forced outside the lure into the fish's mouth.

Abstract: One embodiment permits retrofitting one or more laterally extending electrical boxes for extra switches, outlets or accessories such as rheostatic controls in existing walls without tearing out a portion of the wall, removing the box, rewiring a new ganged box and refinishing the wall. This invention provides modular lateral box extensions constructed to be installed from the open front end and supported by the installed box anchored to a beam with the wall being cut only enough to receive the extension modular box. This efficiently requires the wiring of only additional modules and avoids repair and repainting of walls.

Abstract: This invention provides improved lawn rolling equipment for grooming lawns. To resolve the "Lazarus" effect of recovery of bent over grass stems that make a freshly mowed lawn look unkempt and ragged, a lawn mower accessory is provided with a roller that is manually bistably positioned between a rolling-on-the-lawn-surface working position and a retracted-off-the-lawn-surface idling position so that mowing may be selectively performed with or without the accompanying rolling step. The prior art has not provided simple, inexpensive equipment, such as here provided, that can improve the appearance of lawns even when double mowed by the criss-cross method because there is a higher probability of removing unwanted grain and uneven grass lengths caused by grass stems bent in one direction by the rolling that revive after mowing to introduce graininess and untidiness.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing mounts for pictures or documents comprises a cutting head which is movable over a mount blank in a longitudinal axis and in a transverse axis. A controller is provided which is so designed that the cutting head is automatically movable over the mount blank to be cut. The controller is adjustable such that the cutting head is moved according to the size of the over-cut required with a predetermined thickness of the mount blank over the greater distance required for obtaining the desired width of the mount cut-out. The oblique cut edges, meeting in the corners, of the interior, to be removed, of the mount blank are completely severed without the cut being greater than necessary. The individual cut edges can be cut precisely and easily with this apparatus. It is therefore possible even for operators who are not very skilled practically to produce a relatively large number of greatly different mounts within a short period of time.
