Abstract: A cutting apparatus has a unidirectionally-locking blade cover that automatically snaps back over the exposed blade after each cut, and a dependent, index finger operated unlocking trigger.
Abstract: A brake stroke indicator, comprising a L shaped indicator member disposed on the push rod clevis pin, and a concealing means. The indicator member comprises a first section with holes to connect with the push rod clevis pin and slack adjuster, and a second section of highly reflective color surface angularly disposed to the first section. The indicator member moves with the clevis pin, and oscillates as the push rod is reciprocating. The indicator member hides behind the concealing member while the push rod reciprocates within safe limits. The second section of indicator show up out of the concealing means when the push rod goes beyond its safe operational limits.
Abstract: A cushion heated convectively using a positive temperature coefficient of resistance type resistive heating includes a mattress pad, seat or the like with a bottom surface secured around its perimeter to an air permeable top surface, forming a plenum and containing tubular spacer material or other air flow structure therein. The plenum is connected to a power unit housing a blower, a heating module and a controller unit. The heating module includes a PTC type heating element. A remote control is provided, and a foldable antenna attachable to the convective unit facilitates wireless communication with the controller unit. The user resting atop the cushion controls the blower and heating module to deliver air of a desired temperature and quantity to the cushion and through the top surface.
Abstract: A cutting apparatus has a unidirectionally-locking blade cover that automatically snaps back over the exposed blade after each cut, and a dependent, index finger operated unlocking trigger.
Abstract: A fishing lure comprising a resilient soft bodied bait and a hook attaching device, wherein the soft bodied bait includes a first hole extending along the width of the soft bodied bait near its head portion and a second hole extending perpendicularly from the center of the first hole till the exterior of the bait and a slit dividing the head portion and the second hole. The hook attaching device comprises an elongated member adapted to be securely received in the first hole, a stem adapted to be securely received in the first hole and an eyelet on the stem. The stem extends perpendicularly from the center of the elongated member and is substantially of the same length of the second hole. The hook attaching device is inserted in the bait; and the nose portion of the soft-bodied bait is resiliently pushed back to expose the eyelet for inserting a fish hook.
Abstract: A helmet (12) includes a thermoelectric heat pump (14) mounted onto a rear surface of the helmet shell (12) for delivering temperature conditioned air to the interior of the helmet shell. A multi-layer structure (48) on the helmet shell interior distributes conditioned air across the scalp and directly onto the face. An optional scoop (38) directs ambient air to the heat pump (14). Another version locates the heat pump (68, 84) remotely and conditioned air is transmitted to the helmet apparatus (70, 78) via a flexible conduit (72, 85).
Abstract: A disposable mouthwash container for use at a location such as a restaurant or preparatory to a meeting, for quick and easy rinsing of the user's mouth and to receive the used mouthwash back into the same container and be re-sealed for disposal. Each embodiment of the invention seals the mouthwash liquid in a reservoir in the container and has an easily openable top and spout providing access to the mouthwash, and a return opening for directing the used mouthwash back into the container, which is reclosable for disposal. A quick-release split ring connection is provided for mounting the container on a key ring for ready availability, and a reflective tape mirror is provided on some embodiments to facilitate inspection after use.
Abstract: A drain cover adapted for engagement in a cavity above the drain aperture in the surface forming a pool or spa and below a top component. The top component features a substantially transparent center section which provides a view of a display component housed in a display cavity formed between the drain aperture and the center section of the top component. The display component is easily changed by removal of the top component, replacing the display component, and remounting the top component.
Abstract: A chance-based water game for randomly spraying none, one or multiple individual players includes a housing with an inlet for a pressurized water source; a disc-shaped selector, and a trigger. The housing also comprises a series of tubes and nozzles for directing the pressurized water at the players. The trigger is connected to a valve for permitting a predetermined amount of pressurized water to pass through the device. When the trigger is activated, water travels from the pressure source, into the housing, past the trigger valve, and into a manifold where the single stream of water is channeled through a valve and gasket to none, one or multiple individual circuits corresponding to none, one or multiple nozzles. The selector determines the circuits, if any, through which the water passes.
