  • Patent number: 7140319
Abstract: An elongated hollow member (160), as shown in FIG. 1, with longitudinally disposed external vane(s) (275A–B) for securing an offshore structure to the seafloor. The external vanes help maintain the heading and bearing of the anchor during the installation process, and may also enhance the pile anchor's holding capacity.

  • Patent number: 7108060
Abstract: Method and apparatus for fracturing different levels of a completion interval in a well. A workstring lowers a fracturing string which, in turn, is comprised of a base pipe which is blank except for perforated sections spaced along its length. Screen may be provided over said sections to block the flow of sand into the base pipe. An alternate flow path (e.g. shunt tubes) extends along the base pipe and has one or more outlets spaced along its length. A slurry is flowed into the annulus surrounding the fracturing string. As liquid is lost from the slurry, sand from the slurry will form bridges at said perforated sections thereby isolating portions of the annulus. Slurry then flows through the shunts tube(s) and out into the isolated portions to fracture the different levels in the completion interval.

  • Patent number: 7095956
Abstract: A method for validating a path through a switched optical network is disclosed. A bit error rate at the end of the path is determined. The path is validated if the bit error rate is within a predefined range.

  • Patent number: 7059407
Abstract: The invention discloses methods of, as well as apparatus and systems for, perforating and treating multiple intervals of one or more subterranean formations intersected by a wellbore by deploying within said wellbore a bottom-hole assembly (“BHA”) having a perforating device and a sealing mechanism, wherein pressure communication is established between the portions of the wellbore above and below the sealing mechanism. The BHA is positioned within the wellbore such that the sealing mechanism, when actuated, establishes a hydraulic seal in the wellbore to positively force fluid to enter the perforations corresponding to the interval to be treated. A treating fluid is pumped down the wellbore and into the perforations created in the perforated interval. The sealing mechanism is released, and the steps are repeated for as many intervals as desired, without having to remove the BHA from said wellbore.

  • Patent number: 7050545
Abstract: A non-linear processor for managing a speech signal is disclosed. The non-linear processor includes an adaptive lattice filter that generates a prediction error from a residual echo of the speech signal, a signum non-linearity unit that generates an excitation component from the prediction error, an excitation signal mixer that generates an excitation signal from the excitation component and a noise component, an inverse lattice filter that generates a modified residual echo from the excitation signal, and a gain adjuster that adjusts a power of the modified residual echo.

  • Patent number: 7031459
Abstract: An echo canceller circuit for use in an echo canceller system is set forth that provides sensitive non-linear echo path response detection. The echo canceller circuit comprises a first digital filter having non-adaptive tap coefficients to simulate an echo response occurring during a call. A second digital filter having adaptive tap coefficients to simulate an echo response occurring during the call is also used. The adaptive tap coefficients of the second digital filter are updated over the duration of the call. A coefficient transfer controller is disposed in the echo canceller circuit to transfer the adaptive tap coefficients of the second digital filter to replace the tap coefficients of the first digital filter when a set of one or more transfer conditions is met. A non-linear echo path response detector is provided. The non-linear echo path detector is responsive to one or more parameters of the first and second digital filters to detect a non-linear echo path condition.

  • Patent number: 6993434
Abstract: A method for processing data sets is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises; (a) defining at least two primary region constraints in the data sets by creating a corresponding constraint data set, (b) combining at least two primary region constraints using gated-logic expressions to create derived regions, (c) creating mapping functions from the gated-logic expressions of the derived regions, and (d) displaying desired derived regions through manipulation of the mapping functions. This method is preferably computer implemented and permits processing of multiple constraints in large data sets (such as, three-dimensional seismic or discontinuity data).
