Abstract: A powered hand tool comprising a pneumatic motor including a cylinder, a main body formed as a hollow tube member, a main body rear end being formed with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, the main body being axially disposed for engagement with the pneumatic motor, a main body front end with an interior surface fitted for engagement with a lock nut, the pneumatic motor having a rotary shaft axially extending out of the main body front end wherein the diameter of the pneumatic motor is smaller than the diameter of the hollow tube member, an internal isolation layer composed of a vibration isolation material placed in the hollow tube member so that the vibration isolation material is engaged with and adjacent the ends of the hollow tube member and the pneumatic motor.
Abstract: This row unit utilizes an improved multi-zone, multi-functional stalk roll, which contains a novel revolving entry window to improve entry and increase engagement of the fluted portion of the stalk roll flutes with the corn stalk. The stalk rolls described are multi-sectional and contain multi-length variable flutes. The number of flutes described for each zone may vary as well as whether the flutes are meshing or non-meshing and angled or non-angled. The stalk rolls described allow a constant speed drive shaft to create lower and/or higher effective circumferential contact speeds within each zone of the stalk roll. The invention provides that the rotating transport vanes located on the helical nose cone at the entry area to the stalk roll flutes lock the corn stalk into a revolving entry window. This novel row unit contains a multi-zone, multi-functional stripper plate that ensures minimal ear wedging and maximum discharge of material other than ears.
Abstract: A seed planting assembly comprising a laterally extending support member and a planting unit including a planting frame supported by said support member. Said planting unit frame carries, a seed trench opening assembly operable to create a seed trench in a ground surface, a depth regulating member having a vertical position relative to said seed trench opening assembly, wherein said depth regulating member responds to forces upon said planting unit to control ground surface engagement, an arm assembly connecting said depth regulating member to said planting unit frame with a depth monitoring means for indicating whether said depth regulating member is fully engaged with said ground surface wherein said depth monitoring means indicates whether said arm assembly is engaged with said stop means.
Abstract: An improved method of monitoring penetration of a planting unit into a ground surface comprising engaging a planting unit with a ground surface wherein the planting unit has a planting unit frame and the planting unit frame is cooperatively engaged with a support member by a planting frame and wherein the planting unit comprises, a seed trench opening assembly operable to create a seed trench in a ground surface, a depth regulating member having a vertical position relative to the seed trench opening assembly and monitoring penetration of the furrow forming structure into the ground surface.
Abstract: A cycle for sailing on land comprising a recumbent tricycle with a first wheel and seat positioned aft of second and third wheels. A frame boom extending anteriorly of the front wheels engages a tricycle sprint to support a sailing system. The jib sail of the sailing system may be adjusted during use through swing of the jib boom. The mast and combination of forestay, rear stay, mast sidestays and sprint sidestays cooperatively support attachment and use of jib sail to recumbent tricycle allowing application of wind force to stably motivate the land cycle. Further improvements disclosed and claimed include an electrical system including an electrical generator in cooperation with the rear wheel to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy for storage and use with accessories as well as an electrical motor which may be controlled to allow application of mechanical force in addition to wind force for vehicle motivation.
Abstract: A land cycle for sailing on land comprising a recumbent tricycle with a first wheel and seat positioned aft of second and third wheels. A boom extending anteriorly of the front wheels engages a tricycle sprint to support a sailing system, which includes a vertically positioned mast engaged with the recumbent tricycle frame between the front wheels. A jib sail is positioned within a butterfly jib boom attached to the forestay and may be adjusted during use by the rider. The mast and combination of forestay, rear stay, mast sidestays and sprint sidestays cooperatively support attachment and use of said jib sail to said recumbent tricycle, thereby allowing a rider to apply wind force to stably motivate said land cycle. Further improvements disclosed and claimed include an independent rear brake, butterfly jib boom sleeve, a tubular jib spar, and a tubular forestay.
