Abstract: A series-fed light monitoring system, used for example for runway lights at airports, and fed by a low-frequency feeding current, comprises at least one series loop having one or more loading points connected in series in the form of fittings with lamps or the like, each loading point being connected to the loop via transformer coupling comprising in series a high-frequency transformer, a switch and a choke. The switch and the choke are connected in series in the series loop and the high-frequency transformer is connected on the primary side to the series loop and on the secondary side to the loading point. The choke has an inductance so as not to hinder a low-frequency feeding current in the loop but provide high impedance at the switching frequency.
Abstract: A healing abutment embedded in edentulous bone remains in its implantation site in contouring contact with gingival tissue and has an impression coping mounted directly thereon for data transfer of the healing abutment position and shape to a replica of the implantation site on which a restorative prosthesis is formed. The prosthesis is transferred to the actual implantation site after removal of the healing abutment therefore when the gingival tissue has healed.

Abstract: The vehicle comprises an electric drive motor, a generator driven by a gasoline engine and a regulating circuit which regulates the speed of rotation of the gasoline engine and the electric power supplied to the electric motor as a function of the position of an accelerator pedal and which is arranged so that this electric power increases at the same time as the speed of rotation of the gasoline engine when the pedal is actuated to increase the speed of the vehicle. This feature removes the delay which, in known vehicles of the same type, separates the actuation of the accelerator pedal from the increase in the electric power supplied to the drive motor.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in a sequential bending furnace for bending glass sheets. According to the method, carriages are advanced in the furnace into a section downstream in the traveling direction of the carriages for a subsequent bending cycle essentially by using at least two transfer assemblies, providing a transfer mechanism and including first and second locking elements which are in a transfer-force transmitting relationship during the course of a transfer. This is followed by disengaging the locking elements and then transfer and locking rods included in the transfer assemblies are returned to a transfer commencing position in such a manner that at least one transfer assembly is in a locking position during transfers.
Abstract: A non-volatile semiconductor memory device comprises a semiconductor substrate, a shield gate electrode formed over a device isolation region of the semiconductor substrate through a shield gate insulating film, a floating gate electrode formed over a device region of the semiconductor substrate through a tunnel insulating film, the device region lying adjacent to the device isolation region and a part of the floating gate electrode overlapping the device isolation region so as to form a gap region therebetween, and a control gate electrode formed over the floating gate electrode through an oxide/nitride/oxide (ONO) film and formed over the shield gate electrode through a shield cap insulating film such that a part of the control gate electrode extends into the gap region.
Abstract: Novel O-substituted or O-unsubstituted 6-sulfonamido-1,3-dioxepane-5-ols having hypoglycemic activity are obtained from 6-amino-1,3-dioxepane-5-ol, tetrahydro-6H-[1,3]-dioxepino[5,6-d]oxazole, 5,6-epoxy-1,3-dioxepane or N-sulfonyl-tetrahydro-1H,4H-[1,3]-dioxepino[5,6-b]azirine as starting materials.

Abstract: A shuttle spool and a method for its producing, the spool being for a shuttle in a weaving machine wherein the yarn (thread) is wound onto a pirn which is rotated by rotational devices during the winding. A yarn-trapping device is provided at one end of the pirn, and the pirn with the yarn-trapping device is positioned in the rotational devices. The yarn on the pirn is being wound to form the spool, and after the winding-on of the yarn has been completed, an emerging yarn part is brought into cooperation with the yarn-trapping device for fixing the emerging yarn part.
Abstract: A method of making a semiconductor device includes forming of an element isolation layer stack on a first region of a silicon substrate between adjacent element forming regions and injecting impurity ions upon a surface of the silicon substrate so as to form a diffusion layer. The diffusion layer is formed to include a first portion disposed in a surface of the substrate just beneath the element isolation layer stack and at the same time a second portion disposed in the substrate inside each of the element forming regions at a depth which is at a distance from the surface of the substrate and deeper than the first portion.
Abstract: The specification discloses the compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein (a) --CH.sub.2 Ar represents ##STR2## in which R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkoxy, benzyloxy, hydroxy or trifluoromethyl; and R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkoxy, benzyloxy, hydroxy or trifluoromethyl; provided that R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl if R.sub.1 represents trifluoromethyl, or that R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl if R.sub.2 represents trifluoromethyl; or(b) --CH.sub.2 Ar represents ##STR3## in which X represents sulfur or oxygen and in which attachment to the thiophene or furan ring is at the 2- or 3-position; and tautomers thereof; as purine nucleoside phosphorylase inhibitors.
