  • Patent number: 7418474
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described which provide secure interactive communication of text and image information between a central server computer and one or more client computers located at remote sites for the purpose of storing and retrieving files describing and identifying unique products, services, or individuals. Textual information and image data from one or more of the remote sites are stored separately at the location of the central server computer, with the image data being in compressed form, and with the textual information being included in a relational database with identifiers associated with any related image data. Means are provided at the central computer for management of all textural information and image data received to ensure that all information may be independently retrieved. Requests are entered from remote terminals specifying particular subject matter, and the system is capable of responding to multiple simultaneous requests.

  • Patent number: 7300616
Abstract: A method 10 to selectively produce an article of manufacture 20 having desirable properties and which may replace many “ceramic based” articles. Particularly, the article of manufacture 20 is made by selectively combining an epoxy structural foam material 110 with a catalyst 111 and a drying agent 200. The mixed material is then selectively dispensed within a mold 16 and allowed to harden in order to form the article of manufacture 20. Alternate formulations may be utilized. • Patent number: 7212694
Abstract: The invention provides a fiber-optic sensing system for measuring a curvature in a small and elongated cavity of an object. The system includes a light source, an optical fiber and a light signal reflecting device disposed at a distal end of the optical fiber. The optical source emits a light signal into the optical fiber. The distal section of the optical fiber is inserted into the cavity of the object which curvature is to be measured. The curvature of the cavity bends the distal section of the optical fiber so that attenuation of light signal transmitting through the distal section occurs. This attenuated signal is reflected by a reflecting device and coupled into a measuring device. Thereby the curvature is deduced in accordance with the amount of energy attenuation in the reflected light signal.

  • Patent number: 7058466
Abstract: An apparatus 10 and a method 50 for the creation of a tool 40. The apparatus 10 and the method 50 allow for dynamic measurement of the tool 40 as it is being created and further allows for the use of positive feedback to increase the likelihood that the produced tool will be structurally similar to a certain model. The apparatus 10 and method 50 further allow sections of varying thicknesses to be used and provide a technique to create surfaces which further increase the likelihood that the produced tool will be structurally equivalent to a desired and modeled tool.

  • Patent number: 7036742
Abstract: The present invention relates to a memory card reader which has a eject button; an electrical switch which senses when the eject button is in an inactive rest position. When a memory card is inserted through an aperture in the front bezel it sits at a depth to ensure the rear face of the memory card is at least flush with the bezel surface. The memory card acts on a second electrical switch contact to indicate when it is fully seated. Sensing the state of both switches allows the condition of a) the card being fully seated and b) that there is no card movement, to be detected. To eject the memory card the user must use the eject button which acts on an eject lever to push the card outwards through the aperture in the front bezel. The present invention also relates to a method for safely reading from and writing to a memory card reader device.

Abstract: A method for forming a tool 10 and a tool 10 which is comprised of several selectively coupled sectional members, such as members 12, 16, which are placed upon a heat resistant surface 20. A sealing material 24, such as copper in a solid molecular state, is placed around the periphery of the tool 10. The copper in a solid molecular state 24, the heat resistant surface 20, and the tool 10 are placed within a heat source which transforms the copper in a solid molecular state 24 into liquid which flows within the gaps, such as gap 41 and within knife edges 26, 28 which exists within the tool 10. After the copper 24 cools, the cooper 24 reinforces and strengthens the tool 10.
