  • Patent number: 8101127
Abstract: A fluid disinfection module (10) comprises a first housing (12) and a second housing (20) arranged in spaced-apart relationship to each other. The first housing (12) includes tubular support members (28) and (28a) extending laterally therefrom for respective slidable mateable engagement with corresponding tubular support members (30) and (30a) also laterally extending from second housing (20), to vary the lateral distance x between the first and second housings (12) and (20). A locking device maintains tubular support members (28,28a) and (30,30a) in fixed relationship with respect to each other. First housing (12), second housing (20), and corresponding tubular support members (28,28a) and (30,30a) define a framework for supporting one or more ultraviolet radiation sources (18) and (26) that are detachably mounted at one end thereof to housings (12) and (20), respectively.

  • Patent number: 7077102
Abstract: A system (10) and method for the induction of a fluid into the combustion chamber (15) of an internal combustion engine comprising a cylinder head (12) having at least one intake port (14) communicating with at least one combustion chamber (15) via a valve seat (22) disposed about the intake port (14), and at least one intake valve (16) provided with a valve head (20) having a valve face (21) engageable with the valve seat (22). The valve head (20) is connected to an elongate valve stem (18) that is mounted in the cylinder head (12) for controlling the intermittent flow of fluid from the intake port (14) to the combustion chamber (15).

  • Patent number: 6993923
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for creating and/or maintaining an electrical load on a diesel engine generator for use on a marine vessel in order to avoid the harmful effects of no-load or low-load operation of the diesel engine. The parasitic load bank system 10 utilizes the heat transfer fluid 23 contained in the closed circulation loop 28 of a chille7d-fluid air conditioning system 14 for creating and/or maintaining the electrical load on the diesel engine generator 12 by utilizing a load bank controller 44 for diverting a portion 23c of the heat transfer fluid 23a being supplied to the vessel's air handlers 42 into heat exchange relationship with the heat transfer fluid 20b discharged from the air conditioning system's source of heat transfer 18 such that the heat exchanged heat transfer fluid 23f activates the source of heat transfer 18, which may be a chiller, reverse-cycle chiller or heat pump, to create an electrical power demand on the diesel engine generator 12.

  • Patent number: RE36312
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cam-operated, self-adjusting brakeshoe adjustor that is utilized in heavy duty air braking vehicles .?.that.!. .Iadd.which .Iaddend.employ single and/or multiple-web brakeshoes. The brakeshoe adjustor includes a roller assembly, a cylindrical roller sleeve, and a pawl assembly. The roller assembly comprises a fixed eccentric roller(s) and spindle arrangement for slidable engagement with a cylindrical roller sleeve(s) which in turn is actuated by the rotation of the cam shaft. At least one portion of the spindle is provided with a ratchet for constant engagement with a mateable pawl. The rotation of the roller sleeve(s) about the eccentric roller(s) is limited by the arcuate distance of a slot contained about the edge of the roller sleeve within which a pin, radially extending from the roller, is engaged.
