  • Patent number: 7124763
Abstract: A styling and curling hairbrush 1 having an elongated tubular body 6 with an interior hollow volume along the longitudinal extent to forming air channel 7. A hot air stream 17 enters the open end of body 6. Body 6 has air exit openings 9 connecting the air channel 7 with the outer shell surface of the tubular body 6. Several bristle rows B1–B3 are distributed circumferentially on the tubular body. An air stream divider 3 is in front of the bristle rows B1–B3. A hot air stream 17 is divided by the air stream divider into an air stream 18 flowing into the air channel 7 and one flowing along the outer shell surface of the tubular body 6. The bristle rows B1–B3 of the brush 1 are spaced apart from one another. Each bristle row B1–B3 is next to an air guidance element L1–L3 closed in the radial direction and forming at least one flow channel 12, 16 and is open toward at least an adjacent bristle row B1, B2, B3.

  • Patent number: 7104564
Abstract: A sliding plate supports a heel (or toe or both) binding member on a ski. By depressing a remote switch the skier activates a linear actuator on the ski, thereby releasing a latch which allows a stored energy source to force a rear lock arm assembly to pivot upward. By the pivoting upward of the central pivot joint between the forward and rear lock arms, the overall length of the lock arm assembly is reduced. The sliding plate is attached to one end of the lock arm assembly. Thus, when the lock arm assembly is remotely actuated into the release mode, and shortened, the sliding plate pulls its ski binding member and increases the distance between the ski binding members, thereby releasing the boot from the ski binding members even in a backward fall. Other spring activated embodiments include a piston release assembly.

  • Patent number: 7099488
Abstract: Trace runs for Planar Line Source Transducers (or speakers) are separated into multiple trace circuits which are electrically isolated but occupy the same area on the planar film. The separate trace runs are then driven with different electrical signals with tailored spectral content in order to achieve an overall acoustical frequency response. By having the separate trace runs occupy the same area, the line source nature of the transducer is preserved over the entire intended spectral response of the transducer and the mechanical structure is also kept simple. External spectral filtering circuits are used to pre-shape the spectral signal into each individual trace run and in most cases, the filtering components are passive and inexpensive.

  • Patent number: 7093824
Abstract: A portable fencing system in a barricade or corridor arrangement utilizes at a minimum one each of a corner post fixture, and a fence wire. In an enclosure arrangement, the portable fencing system can utilize at least one winch corner fixture, a plurality of corner post fixtures, a plurality of spacer posts and a plurality of fence wires. Spacer posts are spaced from one another and from a winch corner fixture and corner post fixtures such that the winch corner fixture, corner post fixtures, spacer posts and fence wires all together can form any suitable arrangement in relation to one another to provide an enclosure barrier around an area or a barricade or corridor along a side of an area.

  • Patent number: 7078621
Abstract: Lightning at or near the site of an oil storage tank can cause a charge build up in the tank. This charge must be discharged to ground at rapid speeds to prevent arcing, sparks and fire. The tank has a metal floating roof which can be used to discharge the charge to ground by connecting a low impedance braided wire to the floating roof, and then connecting the wire to a take up reel at the top rim of the tank. The take up reel keeps any slack out of the wire. The path to ground is liquid to floating roof, to braided wire, to take up reel, to wall of tank, to earth ground.

  • Patent number: 7075421
Abstract: A tire monitoring system providing tire status and notifying or warning the vehicle operator of early detection of imminent tire failure and performance degradation; thus improving safety by preventing blowouts from occurring, lengthening tire life by encouraging preventive maintenance, and improving fuel mileage by encouraging the operator to fill the tire to its proper pressure or repair it. The system monitors temperature of the rim of the wheel to which the tire is attached, such temperature being transmitted to the vehicle operator or other interested parties via means such as radio frequency.

  • Patent number: 7065952
Abstract: The present invention discloses a chain where, upon the stressing of the chain, the links automatically arrange themselves with respect to one another in terms of their position in the chain, preventing any undesired link. A link can be developed in the form, in top view, of a drop or in the form of a keyhole. The described chain is not only suitable for application in lashing loads, but also for use with the manipulation of all accessory chain parts, in which the placement of a link is required, for example shortening hooks, shortening straps or the like.
