  • Patent number: 7900537
Abstract: A pliers-type insulation stripping tool includes a releasable fastening device for fastening a knife cassette to at least one of the knife carrier members that are longitudinally displaced by the pivotally connected tool handle members to remove a severed length of insulation from a longitudinally-arranged insulated conductor that is clamped between by the tool gripping jaws. A U-shaped resilient fastener spring wire has leg portions that are resiliently biased apart, at least one of the legs containing a laterally extending bulge portion that extends into a corresponding locking slot contained in a side wall of the knife cassette. To release and replace the knife cassette, the protruding free extremities of the leg portions of the spring wire are displaced together, thereby to remove the leg bulge portion from the slot contained in the cassette outer wall.

  • Patent number: 7841719
Abstract: A method of determining the external three dimensional external contour of a curved object in one step, which produces and processes a single composite en-face OCT image (a C-scan), which involves generating and processing a set of two dimensional image contours of the object in different image planes using a plurality of optical path lengths in an OCT system with all such contours present in the composite en-face OCT image. The multiple path lengths are generated using a multiple delay element in bulk or in fiber inserted in the path from the source to the OCT system or in one of the OCT arms. The image planes have a known spatial relationship with each other. The three dimensional external contour of the curved object is computed from the two dimensional contours in the composite en-face OCT image and the known spatial relationship between the image planes.

  • Patent number: 7826066
Abstract: A method and a system for analyzing the wavefront of a light beam, wherein a diffraction grating is arranged in a plane perpendicular to the light beam to be analyzed and optically conjugated to the analysis plane. Different emerging beams of the grating interfere to generate an image having deformations linked to the gradients of the wavefront to be analyzed. The method is characterized in that the grating carries out the multiplication of an intensity function which is implemented by a two-dimensional grating with hexagonal meshing of surface S transmitting the light of the beam to be analyzed into plural emerging beams arranged in a hexagonal meshing, by an phase function which is implemented by a two-dimensional grating with hexagonal meshing of surface 3S which introduces a phase shift close to 2?/3 (modulo 2?) between two adjacent secondary beams.

  • Patent number: 7810686
Abstract: The invention is a watercraft carrier that can be easily loaded and secured. The carrier has a base and an arm with a belt that runs the length of both the base and the arm. A watercraft is placed within upon the base and against the arm. Then the belt is extended using a crank so that the belt come around the watercraft and the belt is secured using a fastener that is attached to the end of the belt. Then the belt is tightened to secure the watercraft by turning the crank the other direction or by use of a ratchet. In the preferred embodiment, the belt has a flexible stiffener added to make the belt stiffer, but still flexible enough to secure any shaped watercraft.

  • Patent number: 7806533
Abstract: An optical system comprises a first image capture device for capturing an image of an observation area, a first display device, a semi-reflecting plate, a concave mirror disposed facing the first display device, and a second display device for displaying a background image. A light beam is scattered by the first display device through the semi-reflecting plate and then reflected by the mirror and the semi-reflecting plate in order to display an aerial image between the semi-reflecting plate and the observation area. A projector projects a light beam toward one of the display devices. The first image capture device is adapted to capture the image of the observation area via said one display device. A alternating control device alternates capture of an image of the observation area by the first image capture device and projection of the light beam projected by the projector.

Abstract: A compressible sealing gasket for supporting a cable in a wall opening contained in a housing wall includes a pair of gasket sections each having a planar surface that contains a recess, and at least one integral compressible sealing projection extending from the planar surface adjacent the recess. When the gasket sections are placed in an assembled condition with their planar surfaces in contiguous engagement, the recesses cooperate to define a cable opening for receiving a cable, and the projection is compressed between the gasket sections to seal the space between the gasket sections adjacent the cable opening. Preferably two laterally spaced integral sealing ribs are provided in each recess, which sealing ribs extend transversely completely across the recess and terminate at each end in a sealing projection that extends upwardly from the associated planar surface.

  • Patent number: 7774838
Abstract: A thorough method for restricting which operations (processes) can be run by a user on a single workstation computer or by a user on a session in a multi-user environment, such as Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services. By default, all applications (processes) are disallowed. Only explicitly assigned applications (processes) are allowed to run. The method entails running two software modules in user mode, one of which maintains a list of allowed processes for each user and one of which monitors new processes as they are started. When a new process is started the monitoring module sends the process ID to the list module. The list module checks the ID against its list and kills the process if it is not authorized. This way, only processes created by users are validated as apposed to validating all file I/O (processor intensive). This decreases the processing requirements.

  • Patent number: 7735228
Abstract: An insulation stripping tool for flat cables includes a clamping device adapted to be clamped to a flat cable and to provide a linear guide edge for guiding a knife holder to accurately sever the outer insulation sheath of the cable in a transverse direction. Upon removal of the clamping device from the cable, the knife holder is inserted into a chamber contained in the clamping device with the knife edge protruding from the chamber, whereupon a curved side of the flat cable is inserted within first guide grooves contained in the clamping device, and the clamping device is displaced circumferentially of the cable to sever the curved cable side transversely of the cable. The curved cable side is then inserted into a second pair of grooves contained in the clamping device, and the knife holder is displaced longitudinally to sever the insulation sheath longitudinally of the cable.

  • Patent number: 7738501
Abstract: A method is disclosed for recovering timing information between master and slave nodes interconnected over a packet network having an underlying time grid with a distinct granularity. A series timing packets are exchanged between said master and slave nodes to measure the time offset of the time grid relative to clocks at the master and slave clocks. This offset is then used to either adjust the local clock at the slave node, or generate the clock using a digital controlled oscillator.

  • Patent number: 7732510
Abstract: A fuel resistant binder is characterized by the addition of a carrier curing agent to a modified, unmodified or emulsified asphalt material formed of a mixture of hot, cold or emulsified asphalt and carrier and activator materials. The carrier curing agent preferably is a polyurethane moisture curing solution. A cross-linking material and aggregate are also mixed with the binder to form a material suitable for patching cracks and holes in pavement and the like. The activator assists the polymer material in linking with the asphalt while the carrier prevents the formation of gel or lumps within the asphalt. The carrier curing agent resists the penetration of fuel into the binder.
