Abstract: An emergency floatation system associated with a landing gear of a rotorcraft comprising at least a float unit and a raft module. The float unit is formed by a base and a float cover with an inflatable float being positioned therebetween. The raft module is formed with a raft compartment adapted to receive an inflatable raft in the packed condition thereof. The raft module is supported on the float by the base. The raft is adapted for inflation and deployment from the raft module independently of the float deployment.

Abstract: A hand-held laser device includes a casing formed with a substantially hollow interior space and having a laser emitter thereinside. The laser emitter is formed with an exciting lamp and a laser rod. A source generating a stream of gaseous coolant is provided within the interior space. Abstract: Gripping pliers consisting of a jointed clamp and handle. The clamp contains a longitudinal slot with longitudinal apertures defining first and second detent positions. In the first position, the joint is movable whereas in the second position, the joint is locked. The handle is rotatably mounted on a bearing ring which permits fine adjustment of the opening width of the pliers.
Abstract: An exercise device includes a housing having at least a wall portion, at least two apertures extending through the wall portion and spaced from each other, and at least one elongate rod having a center section located between opposite ends. The center section is adapted for slidable movement through the apertures. The friction generating arrangement provides frictional engagement of the elongate rod with the apertures, so as to resist sliding movement of the rod through the apertures.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for data storing with a compression coding and/or decoding device for the storing of picture data in a compressed or decompressed data format in a data memory. The compression coding and decoding device is adapted to mark or label and subsequently specific retrieve picture segments. This permits individual compression or decompression of labelled picture segments. In a method of storing picture data in a compressed or decompressed data format in a data storing memory, the picture data are divided into data segments. The location information of the data segments is stored. The method and device is preferably used in traffic monitoring installations. The picture data are camera data of a digital camera taking pictures of a traffic situation and a violating vehicle, when traffic regulations are violated such as by speeding. The device and method of the invention permits, for example, to decompress individually the picture segment showing the license plate of a violating vehicle.

A rotary piston is guided for rotary movement in the cavity. The rotary piston moves in consecutive intervals of motion from one blocking position to an adjacent end position. The rotary piston, during the consecutive intervals of motion rotates, in the same rotational direction, alternatingly about one of two different axes. A transmission arrangement transmits the rotary motion about two axes. When the rotary piston reaches a blocking position, there is an associated larger diameter cavity circular arc, in which the larger diameter piston circular arc was slidingly guided during the preceding interval of motion.
Abstract: A housing assembly includes first and second sides and first and second panels spaced apart from each other by an interior of the housing and traversing the first and second sides. A first porous desiccant retention plate and a second porous desiccant retention plate are spaced from each other are secured within the housing so as to define a desiccant chamber therebetween for maintaining the desiccant medium. An opening is formed within one of said panels in a location corresponding to the location of the desiccant chamber, facilitating replacement of the desiccant medium within the desiccant chamber.

Abstract: A girt assembly for releasably connecting an evacuation slide to an aircraft includes superimposed flexible panels that are continuous at a pair of spaced connection points for connection with the aircraft.
