Abstract: A food product comprising a plurality of preformed discrete wafers being selectively assembled by the consumer into a multi-layer cookie or snack having desired layers of edible food product such as a potato chip or corn chip, etc. with one or more selectable intermediate layer(s) or filler substances such as chocolate, peanut butter spread, etc. disposed between the outer cookie/chip layers. The preformed and packaged layers enable the snack food item to be selectively assembled and arranged by the consumers to suit his/her individual taste and to enable the consumers to experiment with multiple sandwich/cookie constituent ingredient combinations/arrangements.
Abstract: A liquid dispensing device which allows oral ingestion of a liquid at a desired or controlled rate to, for example, an infant. A holder is provided to enable the placement of the dispenser during periods when dispensing and/or feeding is interrupted or suspended. The dispenser basically comprises a transparent or semi-transparent flexible rubber like elongated cylinder having measurement markings on or about the peripheral surface. An upper flange member supports the dispenser in an upright position when placed in the holder unit. A cap is provided having means for controlling the fluid flow rate. A fluid flow blocking means is provided at the bottom of the holder unit.
Abstract: A garment made of stretch molded material such as rubber or elastermeric resin, such as a swimsuit, with cutouts (front and/or rear) molded in contouring for figure enhancement and having ultra thin seams or no seams to present a more flattering and sensual appearance when used as an undergarment with form fitting casual wear designed to accentuate body parts.
Abstract: A vehicle designed as a dual function ice and water craft having an improved aerodynamic floatable hull supportable on a tripod of ice skate-like blades which also function as stabilizers when the craft is used in water. Aerodynamically designed side pylons serve both as flotation devices and as energy absorbing crush pads for improved safety in case of a crash. A pittman type steering mechanism is provided for improved control of the front steering/rudder blade. A front and rear stabilizer is used to provide a unique control for an ice craft and bow control for a water craft.
Abstract: A new and improved printing cylinder or image carrier sleeve which is formed of either carbon fiber/particles or from a relatively thin flat sheet of metal. The flat sheet of metal, for example, stainless steel or tin, is rolled to form a cylinder of desired diameter and welded together along the longitudinal edges. The weld seam or spots may be filed to have a substantially flat and smooth surface. Also disclosed is a mandrel assembly having an outer expansion sleeve member with one or more yield or preferential expansion regions, for example, circumferential grooves for applying pressure to effect outward expansion of said outer sleeve member.
Abstract: A food product comprising a multilayer cookie or snack having outer layers formed from a crispy type edible food product such as a potato chip or corn chip, etc. with an intermediate marshmallow layer being in contact with the inner surface of each crispy chip and one or more filler substances such as chocolate, peanut butter spread, etc. disposed between the two marshmallow layers. The marshmallow layers act to bond the snack food item together while insulating the crispy chip from contact with the filler layers to substantially prevent said crispy chips from becoming soggy and non-crispy.
Abstract: A printing cylinder is disclosed comprising a four-piece mandrel assembly having spaced outer journal sections, a first cylindrical sleeve circumferentially mounted at its ends about a respective journal section, a second cylindrical sleeve having an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of said first cylindrical sleeve and being circumferentially mounted thereon by means, for example, circumferential welds, to provide a substantially uniform space circumferentially between said first and second sleeve members, said second sleeve member having one or more yield or preferential expansion regions, for example, circumferential grooves and a hydraulic system for applying pressure between said first and second sleeve members to thereby effect outward expansion of said second sleeve member.Another feature of the invention comprises the interchangeability of image carrier sleeves each having a selected thickness for mating operation with different inking rollers.
Abstract: A radiant tube heating assembly for a furnace, which assembly combines the features of a heating element utilizing the latest powder metallurgical technology, improved ceramic spacers and staggered weld joints to thereby enable higher efficiency and heating temperatures. Further, the assembly enables a higher temperature element system, ease of manufacture and reduced failures due to shorts or arc over at the weld joints.
Abstract: A self-sharpening type scraping tool having particular utility for scraping surfaces such as to remove paint from walls of a structure, in which the manual actuation of the tool simultaneously effects sharpening of one or more blade edges. A rectangular/square shaped plate is pivotally mounted to a base member and contains a projecting blade on each side of the plate member. Sharpening member is provided for sharpening one or more the blades performed by the tool operator.
Abstract: A laminated playing surface such as a tennis court comprises: (a) a rubber like basemat which generally is formed of rubber particles bound without pollutants, in roll form; (b) a primer generally being a mixture of adhesive and dry silica sand; a layer of sand applied while the primer is wet which bonds with and fills surface gaps, holes, ravines and gorges; (d) a coating compound of sand and acrylic; (e) and a surface color coatings.
Abstract: A medical staple forming die and pusher punch for use in a staple forming machine. The bend radius of the staple is formed either by the form punch pushing the wire past a set of rollers, or by movable forming dies in conjunction with a tapered or contoured pusher punch. Since the wire is not scrapping on a stationary rail, pulling thin or cracking in its corners is substantially eliminated and the possibility of metal slivers produced by the prior art scrapping methods is substantially reduced or eliminated.
Abstract: A modular type heating unit or assembly having particular utility for use in a high temperature electric furnace, preferably in a group arrangement, comprises an insulating fibrous refractory block, a pair of spaced apart support rods, inner and outer support tubes and a heating element. Both the heating element and the support rods are formed of alloys to enable operation at relatively high temperatures. By utilizing this concept of modular element/insulation units, furnaces can be operated at relatively higher temperatures than is currently possible for exposed electrical element type furnaces.
Abstract: A system and method for control of so-called KARAOKE equipment whereby the musical key of the pre-recorded accompaniment music may be altered automatically to substantially coincide with the analyzed or given vocal range of the singer, for example, soprano, tenor, mezzo-soprano, baritone, alto or bass, or with the preferred key to be sung entered by the singer, for example, E key, so as to eliminate the trial-and-error manual key adjustments during singing.
Abstract: A method for removal of asbestos floor tile comprising the following steps: lowering the temperature of a selected tile section and the adhesive material between said tile(s) and the juxtaposed subflooring; maintaining the temperature reducing agent for a period of time sufficient to cause said adhesive material/layer to substantially lose its bonding properties; removing the de-bonded asbestos tile from the subflooring and disposing according to Governmental regulations.A manually transportable housing dimensioned for receiving therewithin a quantity or block of dry ice. Said housing having a bottom section defining an opening for being aligned with a selected asbestos floor tile(s). Blower means mounted to said housing for directing an air stream over said dry ice and downwardly through said opening unto said tile(s).
Abstract: An article of clothing for detecting and monitoring the level of infestation of ticks, and other crawling insects. The article of clothing can be in the form of a stocking having an upper legging section that encircles portions of the trouser's legs. One or more circumferential bands are provided about the upper section of the stocking for collecting and entrapping the ticks, etc. The stocking is formed of a material and color to attract and facilitate insect gathering on the stocking.
Abstract: A supervisory control unit for lighting, heating and air conditioning equipment containing an occupancy sensor, a temperature limit detector, an entry delay detector and incorporating time cycle operation intended to limit the use of said equipment for the purposes of energy conservation. The unit outputs low voltage control signals that by means of external switching devices makes or interrupts the power and/or control signals normally connected to the lighting, heating and air conditioning equipment, thereby limiting the use of said equipment unless certain criteria are met.
