Abstract: In a mobile communication terminal having a camera rotatively connected thereto, an apparatus and a method for controlling an image is provided. A photographic image generated by the camera can be reoriented so that the image appears inversed as a result of sensing a rotational position of the camera relative to the terminal. A position sensing unit detects a rotational position of a camera; a control unit compares the detected position to a default position and reorients the photographic image if the detected position does not correspond to the default position.

Abstract: Disclosed is a message display method in a mobile communication terminal, which includes the steps of receiving a message, detecting message information from the received message, and displaying detected caller information on LCD by a scroll system. The present invention scrolls message information or message contents on an internal or external LCD automatically r selectively so that a user enables to check a sort of message and caller through an LCD window in direct without manipulating a message check key. Moreover, when receiving a message, the present invention enables to check message contents by a least key manipulation, and particularly, carry out all operations relating to a message using only one hot key for a user's convenience.

Abstract: A VSB communication system or transmitter for processing supplemental data packets with MPEG-II data packets includes a VSB supplemental data processor and a VSB transmission system. The VSB supplemental data processor includes a Reed-Solomon coder for coding the supplemental data to be transmitted, a null sequence inserter for inserting a null sequence to an interleaved supplemental data for generating a predefined sequence, a header inserter for inserting an MPEG header to the supplemental data having the null sequence inserted therein, a multiplexer for multiplexing an MPEG data coded with the supplemental data having the MPEG header added thereto in a preset multiplexing ratio and units. The output of the multiplexer is provided to an 8T-VSB transmission system for modulating a data field from the multiplexer and transmitting the modulated data field to a VSB reception system.

Abstract: A digital VSB transmission system that is able to send supplemental data along with MPEG image/sound data is enclosed. The system initially encodes the supplemental data symbol to generate a parity bit, and it multiplexes the parity bit with a predefined sequence and transmits the multiplexed data to a receiver. The system is compatible with the existing ATSC 8T-VSB receivers that are already on the market. It can have advantages over the other type of VSB transmission systems that transmit only the predefined sequence. In addition, the system according the to the present invention results a improved robustness against ghost and noise signals in a channel compared to systems using only the ½ rate convolutional encoding.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a Multi-Function Device (MFD) of a mobile terminal has a filter circuit converted according to operation modes of the MFD and the apparatus includes a differential amplifier for amplifying an audio signal, an audio filter comprising first and second audio filters connected to the differential amplifier, for varying frequency of the audio signal according to a control signal of the operation modes of the mobile terminal and a switching unit for switching the audio signal with one of the plurality of filters according to the control signal of operation modes. Also, there is an advantage that the apparatus in accordance with the present invention can prevent erroneous performance of the MFD and achieve efficient performance by generating an audio signal classifying frequency characteristic and amplifying gain of the audio filter according to the modes of vibration output, melody output and speech output.

Abstract: An Internet telephony gateway that connects a PSTN with an IP network and a method for operating the Internet telephony gateway are disclosed. When abnormal services due to matching between networks are interrupted, the Internet telephony gateway performs a flow for terminating a call with a corresponding subscriber terminal unit using an internal failure alarm system. The flow includes a message of a failure alarm, a tone, and an announcement.

Abstract: An antenna assembly for wireless communications has various components to minimize signal influence when transmitting signals to minimize undesirable loop formation phenomena caused by (positive) feedback of signals. Signal wave scattering and diffraction causing back lobe radio frequency (RF) patterns are minimized by a particular antenna assembly structure having a reflector and at least one attenuating structural member, a metallic mesh wrapping the power cable of a feeder, a non-conductive antenna support structure, or any combination thereof. The dimensions of the various components, in particular the reflector and attenuators, can be varied according to desired wireless communications environment.

Abstract: A projection display system is disclosed, which enables aberration correction and can reduce the size of the system. The projection display system includes a liquid crystal panel displaying an image, a first lens group having a positive refractive power, formed by combination of two or more lenses, and correcting aberration of incident light from the liquid crystal panel, a total reflection mirror reflecting the incident light from the first lens group in a predetermined direction, and a second lens group having a negative refractive power, formed by combination of two or more lenses, and correcting aberration of the incident light from the total reflection mirror.
