Abstract: A system for continuously feeding drill cuttings extracted from a cutting source into a liquid. The system has an open bottomed vacuum hood, means for positioning the open bottom of the vacuum hood in a liquid, means for creating a vacuum in the vacuum hood, a conduit for transporting the drill cuttings from the cutting source to the open bottomed vacuum hood, from which vacuum hood the drill cuttings fall, under the influence of gravity, through the open bottom of the vacuum hood and are thereby deposited into said liquid. Embodiments include means for removing and recovering residual drilling fluids extracted with the drill cuttings, reducing the size of the drill cuttings so they may be injected into a porous earth formation, relieving choke points and blockages.
Abstract: Data representing key performance indicators of a business enterprise are displayed by computer as a squarified tree map having major nodes each of which represents a profit center of the enterprise and minor nodes each of which represents a project associated with a particular profit center. Size, color and position of each of the minor nodes within a major node and size and position of each the major nodes within the squarified tree map is specified so as to produce a visual display which is highly appealing to the visually perceptive/intuitive processes of the human mind therefore enables rapid managerial response to visually perceived, intuitively sensed deviations from selected performance criteria.

Abstract: A drilling and vibratory jarring device is provided. The device has an inner mandrel shiftable upward or downward in an outer housing from an intermediate position in the outer housing. When the inner mandrel is in the intermediate position within the outer housing mating splines, one set of splines attached to inner mandrel, the other set of splines attached to the outer housing, engage and rotatably lock inner mandrel and outer housing together. When the inner mandrel is shifted to the upward position said splines disengage and the saw-tooth surfaces of an upper pair of jars engage creating longitudinal vibratory forces down-hole when inner mandrel is rotated with respect to outer housing. When the inner mandrel is shifted to the downward position said splines disengage and the saw-tooth surfaces of an lower pair of jars engage creating longitudinal vibratory forces down-hole when inner mandrel is rotated with respect to outer housing.
Abstract: A continuous open discharge vacuum chamber for gravity feeding drill cuttings extracted from a cuttings source by vacuum and depositing them by gravity into a fluid. Embodiments include means for removing and recovery of drilling fluids, sizing the cuttings and relieving choke points and blockages.
Abstract: A method for inspection of tubular goods includes using ultrasonic detection means to obtain wall thickness measurement of discrete sections of a tubular good and recording each measurement in association with both the longitudinal and circumferential position at which each measurement was obtained. Accordingly each measurement of wall thickness represents a small portion of the wall thickness of said tubular in three dimensional space. A plurality of said measurements may thereby be displayed by computer means in virtual three dimensional formal. Differing wall thickness readings made he represented by different shading or color display, so that anomalies of interest may be readily detected. Alternatively the recorded information may be readily processed by computer means to calculate the effect of stressors on the wall of said tubular good.

Abstract: A multi-function surgical instrument for facilitating ophthalmic surgery of the eye (3) by laser means, included are a lower ring (1) and an upper ring (2). One or two intermediate rings may also be included. The lower ring (1) includes a central aperture (11) to capture the limbus and aid in positioning of the eye (3). Protuberances on the lower surface (18) of said ring (1), application of vacuum between the lower surface (18) of the ring (1) and the eye (3), or both may be used to more firmly grip the eye (3). Ports (14) disposed on the upper surface (13) of the lower ring (1) and connected to a vacuum source may be used to control hydration of the surgical field. Attached to structures of the lower ring (1) is a sterile platform (17) for reposing temporarily removed tissues (32) during the administration of laser pulses to other tissues. The upper ring (2) is disposed above the surgical bed.
