  • Patent number: 4903863
Abstract: An open cylinder adapted to receive a tear gas canister has a trigger mechanism that holds the canister well above the bottom of the cylinder. When the device is activated by an intruder, the operating mechanism withdraws trigger mechanism from under the cylinder, frees the cylinder to fall by gravity against an impact plate, which inturn, opens the canister value so that tear gas is discharged into the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 4802446
Abstract: A safety device for subcritical natural and forced circulation boilers wherein the differential between downcomer fluid temperature and drum saturation temperature is measured and the trend of the differential is determined by computer means on a continuous basis. If the differential approaches a defined limit in its trend in a defined time interval or the furnace tube temperature increases instantaneously, the heat source for the boiler is diminished.

  • Patent number: 4782747
Abstract: A continuous device and process for extracting liquid from mash, sludge or pulp bearing slurries. The device comprises a pair of parallel opposed and counter rotating rolls each consisting of a base roll member having circumferentially disposed grid member consisting of a multiplicity of upright standing leaves which interbolt to form a grid which encases the entire surface of the roll member. Raw material for deliquification is spread over the grid and compressed by an inflatable, reciprocating platen to express liquid through the grid into underlying collection channels. The rolls are then rotated toward each other to express additional liquid and produce a substantially dry material. The liquid collected in the collection channels is withdrawn by applying a negative pressure through orifices located at the axial extent of the rolls.

  • Patent number: 4765652
Abstract: A book mark is disclosed which is an extension of a book's endpaper or flyleaf and folded such that the fold coincides with the width of the book page and the extension folds inwardly to mark a place in the book. The book mark may be made as a separate endpaper extension by folding a sheet of paper of defined length along its longitudinal axis to form a major portion and a minor portion which has adhered to its outfold surface adhesive for attachment to the endpaper or flyleaf such that the outer edge of the endpaper or flyleaf coincides with the fold and the extension folds inwardly to mark a place in the book.

  • Patent number: 4760776
Abstract: A mobile barbeque cart is disclosed that features means to rotate the burner tubes and maintain the flame in a vertical plane when used on sloping terrain. The novel design also permits the use of any given number of spits which may readily by self-engagingly mounted for rotation. This latter feature is accomplished by means of sprocket wheels mounted at the free ends of the spits the lower teeth of which engage the upper side of an endless chain. The endless chain is horizontally and vertically supported by a chain support which maintains the chain in driving engagement with the lower teeth of the sprocket wheels.

  • Patent number: 4760444
Abstract: A visual inspection device is disclosed in which a workpiece to be inspected is set onto a holding fixture in a defined position, the holding fixture having a fixed, crosshair target in a defined location on the fixture. The fixture is transported into one or more consecutive illuminated video scanned inspection fields having prepositioned therein a calibrated gray scale. The piece is then viewed for inspection by a video camera as an addressed data stream containing reflectance values and transmitted to a digitizer and a central processing unit. The inspection field of the data stream is shifted algorithmically such that the target is brought into alignment with and matches a target contained in a reference stream in memory. The data stream is further corrected algorithmically for ambient light by comparing the gray scale reflectance values in the inspection field to a reference gray scale in memory which has not been affected by ambient light. Variations in values cause rejection.

Abstract: A golf club wood head facing machine is disclosed which comprises a base with a planar top upon which is mounted a face cutting assembly with a movable motor driven cutter which can be pivoted simultaneously both horizontally and vertically to shape the head's face to give it a defined bulge and roll. In addition thereto there is mounted on the assembly a club head holding mechanism consisting of a downwardly directed clamp above a railbed having two parallel rails mounted thereon to permit the seating and clamping of the golf head to be faced. The holder provides loft, face angle, face progression and lie adjustment means, as well as feed means to urge the club face forward against the cutter. Provision is also made to raise or lower the holder so as to locate the club face against the cutter.
