  • Patent number: 6243923
Abstract: Two brackets having butterfly configurations with openings therein adapted to permit each end of two conventional clothes hangers to be engaged in a parallel status, provide a completed storage facility for hoses, flexible tubes, ropes, chains, belts, electric cords, christmas light cords, and other similar items to be stored thereon. Each bracket has opposite concave arms connected to opposite flat arms completing a continuous periphery to form a closed exterior bracket with openings therein. The flat arms of the bracket form an angle with the concave arms of the bracket permitting frictional engagement with the flat and diagonal members of a conventional coat hanger which are located within the openings. Each bracket engages two coat hangers, forming a storage facility between the concave surfaces of each bracket and the two side-by-side clothing hangers.

  • Patent number: 5274609
Abstract: A glass globe for the purpose of preventing insects from blocking out the source of light in a portable lantern has two prearranged doors. The doors cover approximately 30 to 40% of the surface area of the globe and are made of a fire resistant material with a light reflective surface. The doors open back to back from the same hinge area and are biased by springs circumscribing their hinge rod assemblies. The doors, when open, prevent the wind from blowing out the lantern flame and yet permit bugs and insects to enter to the inside area of the glass globe whereby they become burned and liquidated. The doors are mounted within a fire proof frame and made of a polished metal material so as to give light reflection and reduce the light loss from the light source. The glass globe is made of various sizes to replace the various size globes in the conventional commercial portable lanterns. The doors are mounted on a hinge rod and biased by helical springs circumscribing the rod.

  • Patent number: 5158518
Abstract: The invention herein is a machine for exercising the legs and lower extremities of the body by placing most of the forces of exertion below the hips. A two sided frame, which is L-shaped, has a chain-sprocket transmission system connected to weights. The chain is mounted on a sprocket directly above the weights and pulls them up vertically. The chain extends down to the bottom of the frame and meshes with a lower sprocket almost at floor level. The chain then extends to the front of the frame above the floor level to a location contiguous to the area where the exerciser stands and meshes with another sprocket. The chain is connected to a coupler to which a belt is connected. The exerciser places the belt over his/her hips and pulls up on the chain by extending his/her arms onto an arm rest which has grips. The exerciser stands on a platform.

  • Patent number: 4591055
Abstract: A package for preserving fresh fruits, meats, flowers and the like by vacuum packing same in a tubular shaped cylindrical type container. The container is covered with a thermo, transparent, resilient, plastic material and sealed after the air is withdrawn. There is a signaling means for indicating whether the vacuum has been breached and air has entered into the chamber comprising of a green disc that falls away from a red spot whereby the red spot appears through an opening in the end plate. There are end plates independent of the cylindrical chamber and secured to same for convenience in storage and safety in transit. The end plates have a flat surface of sufficient area so as to act as support members and are secured at each end of the cylindrical container so as to form a unitary package.

  • Patent number: 4429881
Abstract: A miniature golf course including a perimeter fence made of hinged segments of blocks that are slightly higher than the diameter of the golf ball. There is a center section having a tunnel member in the rear thereof and another tunnel member in the front opposite the starting area. Within the center section is a removable ramp having simulated traps. On each side of the center section are fences parallel to the outside perimeter fences connected to each corner of the tunnel members. Pegs and openings within the members to receive the pegs enable the center section to be quickly and easily assembled. Three fairways are formed, one on each side of the center section, and one through the center section. A single target hole is located between the rear tunnel member and the rear of the perimeter fence. A blocking member is movable and adapted to be located to close off two fairways by connecting it to a corner of the front tunnel and the perimeter fence opposite the starting area.

  • Patent number: 4237669
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a device for eliminating seams at the butt joints caused by the installation of contiguous wall boards in building construction.A bracket, having means for fastening to the studs, has a slightly recessed surface. The butting edges of the wall boards that are fastened to the studs are screwed down tightly on the recessed surface of the bracket. The wall boards, being somewhat flexible, form a concave outer surface slightly below the plane of the wallboard surface that is mounted on the stud. The concave area is taped and then filled with a selected filling material or a joint compound, bringing the new surface formed thereby back to the original plane of the wallboard. The bracket is permanently secured by the wallboard so there will be no movements, and the filling and taping procedure completely conceal the joint lines, so that the wallboard can be painted or wallpapered and will appear as one continuous surface.

  • Patent number: 4191162
Abstract: The within invention comprises a stove unit or fire box to be used to heat the inside of buildings. It is particularly designed to be used inside the hearth of fireplaces. It has slots and openings in its panel flanges for permitting the panels to be adjusted so as to change the locations of the panels to cover the area in the front of the fireplace both on the sides and top of the stove unit so that only the glass doors of the combustion chamber or fire box will be seen and the inside of the fireplace cavity will be hidden from view. The panels, and the location of the slots and openings are so arranged and are of such dimension to permit the unit to fit most sizes of fireplaces. The unit also has an air intake duct which converts the cool air, heats it and jets it out into the area to be heated.

  • Patent number: 4095811
Abstract: This invention is concerned with drills that are driven by electrical motors upon which there is movable chuck jaws for changing the size of the drill bit. The invention comprises of two parts, a drive sleeve, and a studded anchor ring. By means of the studded anchor ring, the operator is able to hold the spindle of the drill motionless so that it will not rotate, while by means of the drive sleeve, the outer cylinder of the chuck can be turned, thus locking or unlocking the jaws of the chuck to remove or insert the desired drill bit. The drive sleeve consists of a medium hard resilient type member, preferably made of rubber in the shape of a cylinder. The anchor ring cmprises a material also of a medium hard rubber or the like with three studs molded at intervals of 120 degrees apart on the inner surface. The studs engage the pivot hole in the spindle and prevent it from turning while the drive sleeve operates the opening and closing of the jaws of the chuck.

  • Patent number: 4087091
Abstract: The game herein described has a board upon which there is mounted a basket. The basket has a reduced-in-size lower portion beneath which is a flapper assembly. When the player makes a basket with the throw of a bean bag, which passes through the inside of the basket, at the bottom of the basket, the bean bag actuates an elevated part of the flapper which is hereinafter referred to as a flat surface. The weight and force upon the flat surface, causes the arm which is pivotally mounted and integral with it, to move and causes a flapper pointer to engage selector pins which are radially mounted on a spinner wheel, causing the spinner wheel to rotate. A pointer mounted at a top position above the spinner wheel indicates the indicia upon the spinner wheel which gives the player the number of points he has scored.
