  • Patent number: 8271805
Abstract: The present invention provides a secure buffer for use in data storage and encryption processing. Blocks or packets of data are passed to a secure buffer within a processor. The processor may be one of many coprocessors, and the secure buffer may be inaccessible to some or all of the coprocessors. Data may be partially or fully encrypted and stored within the secure buffer. Encryption may occur before or after storage in the buffer, or it may take place within the buffer itself. Optionally, the encrypted data may be sent to and retrieved from a shared memory that is accessible by other coprocessors.

  • Patent number: 8269866
Abstract: An amplifier gain setting section estimates a light source parameter which relies upon a spectral distribution of an image pickup light source based on an image signal. Then, a first adjustment control value for each color signal when adjustment is to be performed so as to establish a white balance based on the estimated parameter is modulated by an amount corresponding to a follow-up sensitivity toward a second adjustment control value when adjustment is to be performed so that an achromatic subject under a particular reference light source is reproduced as an achromatic subject. The modulated adjustment control value is set to a white balance amplifier. The follow-up sensitivity is set to the amplifier gain setting section in response to an illuminance level estimated from a detection value of the brightness.

  • Patent number: 8266821
Abstract: A method for torrefaction of water containing cellulosic materials is performed in an inert atmosphere. The cellulosic material is cascaded through the apparatus between a plurality of rotatable trays vertically stacked within multiple processing zones. Steam being generated from heating of the cellulosic material is recycled back to the apparatus to provide an inert atmosphere. The steam may be superheated in a heat exchanger. Exhaust from the torrefaction zone of the apparatus has some moisture and other volatiles removed prior to being reheated in a burner. The heated exhaust is used in the heat exchanger to superheat the recycled steam.

  • Patent number: 8269850
Abstract: A signal SG41 that has color signals thereof time-sequentially arranged in a color array corresponding to the color array in an image sensor 3 and that has not undergone resolution conversion is subjected to resolution conversion at a conversion rate (for example, ?) specified by a phase retention resolution conversion section 42. A de-mosaicing processing section 44 converts a signal SG42, which represents the order of the color array in the image sensor, into RGB signals SG44. A thin-line retention resolution conversion section 45 converts the signals SG44 into signals SG45 at a specified conversion rate (for example, ½). The signals SG45 are compressed by an encoder. In a recording medium 9, YC signals SG48 representing (640×480) pixels, the color signals SG42, a signal SG51 representing (640×480) pixels in the order of a color array and serving as thumbnail image data DT, and imaging information are recorded.

  • Patent number: 8268489
Abstract: Disclosed are a non-aqueous electrolyte solution for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The non-aqueous electrolyte solution for a lithium secondary battery comprises a silicon-based compound represented by a specific chemical formula and having both a hydroxyl group and a hydrocarbon group having a carbon-carbon double bond. When it is applied to a lithium secondary battery, the non-aqueous electrolyte solution improves deterioration of cycle life characteristics occurring after repeated charge/discharge cycles and prevents swelling phenomena by suppressing a decomposition reaction of an electrolyte solution even when a battery in a fully charged state is stored at high temperature or is charged/discharged, thereby enhancing the life characteristics at high temperature.
