Patent number: 7964568Abstract: A process for preparing parenteral iron-saccharidic complexes, and the complexes produced, comprising: (1) providing an aqueous solution or dispersion including (i) Fe(III) and (OH)? ions and (ii) at least one saccharide, to form a reaction mixture, where the molar ratio of (i): (ii) is about 30:1 to about 1:30; and the mixture temperature and pH are at or above the complex assembly point (CAP); and (2) maintaining temperature and pH at or above the CAP for a time sufficient to form an iron-saccharidic complex having a molecular weight of about 25,000 Daltons or more. Control of the temperature and pH efficiently produces a high molecular weight complex. The complex can be separated by precipitation, dialysis and/or column fractionation and, if desired, dried, e.g., lyophilized or spray dried. The process can controllably synthesize complexes of varying molecular weight and/or chemical composition, particularly sodium ferric gluconate and ferric hydroxide-sucrose.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2004Date of Patent: June 21, 2011Assignee: Chromaceutical Advanced Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Robert A. Patent number: 7932814Abstract: A method and system to determine physical parameters as between a RFID tag and a reader. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are methods comprising generating an antenna feed signal, and transmitting a first electromagnetic wave to a radio frequency device (by coupling the antenna feed signal to a reading antenna), receiving a backscattered electromagnetic wave from the radio frequency device to create a received signal, calculating a combined signal based on the antenna feed signal and received signal, and determining relative velocity between the radio frequency device and the reading antenna based on the combined signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2007Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Round Rock Research, LLCInventor: John R Tuttle

Patent number: 7915136Abstract: The invention includes methods of forming semiconductor constructions and methods of forming pluralities of capacitor devices. An exemplary method of the invention includes forming conductive material within openings in an insulative material to form capacitor electrode structures. A lattice is formed in physical contact with at least some of the electrode structures, a protective cap is formed over the lattice, and subsequently some of the insulative material is removed to expose outer surfaces of the electrode structures. The lattice can alleviate toppling or other loss of structural integrity of the electrode structures, and the protective cap can protect covered portions of the insulative material from the etch. After the outer sidewalls of the electrode structures are exposed, the protective cap is removed. The electrode structures are then incorporated into capacitor constructions.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2009Date of Patent: March 29, 2011Assignee: Round Rock Research, LLCInventor: H. Patent number: 6148590Abstract: A packaging structure for holding an object securely against a rigid backing. The structure includes a substantially rigid panel having a pair of generally parallel fold lines which define respective folding side portions and a center portion. A flexible film material is superimposed on one surface of the center portion and extends onto the folding side portions. At least one edge of the film is secured to one folding side portion. According to one embodiment, the free edge of the film carries a securing member for adjustably mating with one or more mating members on a respective folding side portion. Glue strips, or other securing members, extending along the side portions, are provided for securing one edge of the film material to the rigid panel and for securing the other edge of the film to the securing member. When the securing member is mated with the mating member, the objects will be held tight between the film and the center portion when the side portions are folded in a direction away from the film.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1997Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Sealed Air CorporationInventors: Devin C. Patent number: 6149294Abstract: Apparatus for the preparation of fluids intended for medical use is disclosed, including a water source and at least one cartridge or other vessel containing a solid such as a powder which is to be dissolved in the water for preparation of the desired fluid. The apparatus includes a container such that the water and a powder can be mixed and a concentrate provided in the container, and a recirculation circuit for recirculation of the water or concentrate solution into the container for further mixing of the water and powder to prepare a concentrate having a predetermined concentration.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1997Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Gambro ABInventors: Lennart Jonsson, Stefan Knutsson

Patent number: 6039719Abstract: A container for enclosing a sterile medical solution and method for mixing the same, such as a peritoneal dialysis solution. The container comprises a first compartment comprising the major part of the solution, such as an electrolyte solution comprising NaCl, CaCl.sub.2, etc., and two separate compartments, each comprising glucose in a high concentration. The entire container is autoclaved including the solutions as separated, thereby minimizing the formation of toxic products. During preparation for use, the second compartment or the third compartment, or both, are connected to the first compartment by breaking pins in a connection tube for each compartment. Depending upon the compartments connected to the first compartment, a different concentration of glucose results. Thus, all three of the usually employed glucose concentrations may be provided in a single container.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1998Date of Patent: March 21, 2000Assignee: Gambro ABInventors: Anders Wieslander, Giorgio Cappelli

Patent number: 6039850Abstract: Lithium is sputtered from a target with a metallic lithium surface using an alternating sputtering potential with a frequency between about 8 and about 120 kHz, preferably about 10-100 kHz or using a DC sputtering potential and a reverse cleaning potential applied intermittently. The process can be used to apply lithium to electrochromic materials such as coatings on window glass.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1997Date of Patent: March 21, 2000Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Stephen C. Patent number: 5931841Abstract: A combination broacher-reamer includes a generally longitudinally symmetrical cutting tool which is provided with a plurality of longitudinal broaching cutting teeth as well as a plurality of axial reaming cutting teeth. According to a presently preferred embodiment, the broacher-reamer is generally cylindrical with a smooth blunt distal tip and a tapered distal cutting portion. The proximal end of the tool is provided with a handle and one or more witness marks are provided on the shank of the tool. If the handle is removable the shank may be coupled to a motor or impacting tool. An exemplary broacher-reamer according to the invention is approximately 6.78 inches long with an overall maximum diameter of approximately 0.843 inches. The proximal end of the tool has a diametrical throughbore which is dimensioned to receive the handle which is approximately 3.94 inches long.
