Abstract: Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) and L-carntine (LCAR) are nutraceuticals with indications in treating a variety of mental health disorders. A metabolomics-guided bioprocess method is presented to enhance ALCAR and LCAR formation in germinating plant seeds. Metabolic fluxes are manipulated by germination in bioreactors to increase oxygen availability as well as provide an aseptic environment to alter carbohydrate consumption and feedback repress gluconeogenesis. Large shifts in sunflower seed fatty acid, phospholipid and high-energy metabolism change the germination environment and these metabolic changes lead to an approximate 1000-fold increase in natural LCAR and ALCAR production by the seeds. The resulting LCAR and ALCAR products from the seeds are used for treating mental health disorders including Alzheimer's disease, geriatric depression, non-geriatric depression and schizophrenia.

Abstract: A method and system for storing, navigating and accessing files within an operating system through the use of a graphical thumbnail representing the video display of the active document within the active application, and organized chronologically by the most recent file ‘captured’. Filenames, application names and thumbnail filenames are stored in an indexed file. The indexed file can consist of every document and application used during a session or categorically defined by project or tasks or personal preference. This also stores the application name and path eliminating the need to remember which application last edited the file and where the application is located.

A network-independent location-aware network protocol and interfaces provide communication with location-aware wireless mobile devices. During enrollment indices are created and linked to the user's record and/or identity. Indices are generated so that in future readings of the same user, which are similar but not necessarily equal to the enrollment reading, at least one of the indices will be the same. Indices are also used to provide for additional privacy of the user's template.

Abstract: A composition and method for cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining contained bodies of water such as swimming pools, wading pools, fountains, ornamental ponds, etc. The composition includes pre-determined percentages of copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, and aluminum sulfate by weight. The composition and method reduce amounts of chlorine and an amount of labor associated with the cleaning, sanitization and maintenance of contained bodies of water.

Abstract: A system and a method for automatically routing calls made to an unavailable number to a directory assistance service for further assistance are disclosed herein. An intercept system intercepts these erroneous calls and automatically routes them to a directory assistance service. The directory assistance service then can inform the caller of the unavailable status of the telephone number the caller is attempting to dial. Likewise, the directory assistance service can provide any additional information associated with the unavailable subscriber associated with the unavailable number, such as alternate numbers. The directory assistance service also can provide information regarding other subscribers having similar characteristics to the unavailable subscriber that the caller is attempting to reach. Additionally, the directory assistance service can be adapted to provide general or targeted advertisements to the caller before, during, and/or after providing directory assistance to the caller.

Owners of unclaimed property, identified in the unclaimed property database are automatically located by searching one or more other databases on public and private computer networks such as the Internet. A located owner of unclaimed property is automatically notified as to the existence and amount of unclaimed property with electronic mail, an automatic voice recording or via paper documents. A graphical user interface available on a computer network is presented that allows an identified owner of unclaimed property to request unclaimed property.

Abstract: Advertising materials are provided for cooperative promotions. The materials comprise of a set of print or electronic coupons printed on removable tabs and a promotional piece or flare. Each coupon entitles its purchaser to a substantial discount on a product. Selected coupons entitle its purchaser to a prize. Multiple break-open windows are formed on the coupons and are movable between closed and open positions respectively concealing and revealing outcome-determining indicia. The indicia comprise symbol combinations and identify respective coupons as either losers or winners entitled to pre-determined awards. A cooperative promotional method utilizing the advertising materials is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and system for cooperative resolution of statistical and other joint effects. The method and system include constructing controlled allocation games. Allocation patterns in a control game are used to determine value allocations in an allocation game. The method and system also includes approximating value functions for large cooperative games. The method and system may be used to construct statistical cooperative games and use cooperative game theory to resolve statistical joint effects in a variety of situations. The methods may be applicable to other types of joint effects problems such as those found in engineering, finance and other disciplines.

The method, system, interfaces and protocol may help improve usability of mobile devices by allowing the mobile devices to be location-aware.
