Patent number: 8025100Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing the pressure of a liquid/gas multiphase fluid, and a method for compressing a gaseous fluid, comprising: (b1) entrainment of the gaseous fluid using a motive liquid, to obtain a pressurized mixture of gas and motive liquid; (b2) separation of the pressurized mixture obtained in the preceding step in order to obtain, on the one hand, a compressed gas, and on the other hand, an auxiliary liquid. The invention further relates to devices for this purpose. Application to the production of hydrocarbons.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2007Date of Patent: September 27, 2011Assignee: Total S.A.Inventors: Pierre-Louis Dehaene, Jean-Louis Beauquin

Patent number: 8019577Abstract: A method for modeling turbidite channels which may contain oil that it is desired to extract is provided in which the final shape of the complex resulting from migration of elementary channels over the course of deposition and which is observable from seismic data is combined with the implementation of simple geometric rules, comprising simulation of one or several intermediate channels passing through points on trajectories running from a final channel to an initial channel. The trajectories involved are different from the channel axes or lines; they reflect channel migration over time.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2007Date of Patent: September 13, 2011Assignee: Total S.A.Inventor: Richard Labourdette

Patent number: 8010501Abstract: A computer implemented method for transforming an inverted index of a collection of documents into a smaller inverted index of documents. The smaller index contains links to all and only to those documents appearing in a subset of the original collection of documents. The method avoids reprocessing the subset to create the smaller inverted index by intersecting each inverted list with the list of document references from the desired subset. If this intersection is empty then the list is removed from the new smaller index, otherwise the list containing only the intersected reference list is included in the new inverted index. The method is also extended to deal with creating multiple smaller inverted indexes and with propagating updates changes in the first collection of documents down into the smaller inverted index or indexes.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2007Date of Patent: August 30, 2011Assignee: ExaleadInventors: François Bourdoncle, Florian Douetteau, Stéphane Donze

Patent number: 7997376Abstract: An exhaust system (26) for a vehicle with a V-engine, aimed at increasing the output power of the V-engine, preventing heat conduction from the exhaust system to the parts around the exhaust system and enhancing the durability of the exhaust system is provided. A transmission and a transfer device (14) are connected in series to the V-engine with an output shaft extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the transmission and the transfer device (14) being provided in a tunnel (15) in a central portion of the floor (4) of the vehicle and protruding to an upper section of the vehicle, a pair of exhaust pipes (31, 32) being connected to each bank of the V-engine, the exhaust pipes (31, 32) converging into a convergence section provided under the floor (4) and extending to the rear of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2008Date of Patent: August 16, 2011Assignee: Suzuki Motor CorporationInventor: Akihiro Fujita

Patent number: 7926264Abstract: An exhaust system for a V-engine vehicle with enhanced exhaust gas purifying capacity and output performance is provided. In the exhaust system, a second bank offset from a first bank backward in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is mounted in an engine compartment (6) in front of a dash panel (5), and a first catalytic converter (28) is connected to a rear end portion of a first exhaust manifold (27) of the first bank; a second catalytic converter (30) is connected to a rear end portion of a second exhaust manifold (29) of the second bank. Furthermore, an inlet port (28a) of the first catalytic converter (28) is positioned at a frontward portion of the vehicle (1) with respect to an inlet port (30a) of the second catalytic converter (30) and the frontward angle of inclination of the center line of the first catalytic converter (28) is greater than that of the second catalytic converter (30).Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2008Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Assignee: Suzuki Motor CorporationInventor: Akihiro Fujita

Patent number: 7914730Abstract: Equipment for metallic part hardening treatment comprising a support (10) and at least one working unit (50). The support is adapted to rotate the metallic part (20) during a hardening treatment. The working unit (50) comprises an inductor winding (51) to be positioned in front of a portion of said metallic part for heating said surface. According to the invention, the support (10) comprises one fixed spindle (11) to secure a first end (21) of the metallic part and one mobile tail stock (12) to contact a second end (22) of the metallic part. Therefore, only one end of the metallic part is secured whereas the other end is free to expand. The mechanical stresses applied to the metallic part during the hardening treatment are reduced and the distortion of the metallic part is prevented. Such equipment is well suited to crankshaft hardening treatment.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2005Date of Patent: March 29, 2011Assignee: Fives CelesInventor: Jean-Michel Baills
