  • Patent number: 4584247
Abstract: A method of selecting deformed bar for direct rolling of a thread thereon and also a method of threading such deformed bar. The method comprising rolling a preselected thread onto selected deformed bar without machining the bar in preparation. The bar selection is made so that the average cross-sectional area of the bar with the formed thread is substantially equal to that of the unthreaded portions of the bar. The formed thread is of continuous and substantially constant pitch circle. The method is particularly applicable in manufacture of rock bolts and anchor bolts from hot rolled deformed bar.

  • Patent number: 4574655
Abstract: The present invention provides a wrist mechanism with three degrees of freedom for an industrial robot, which is compactly formed and to which a tool is mounted. The first degree of freedom is associated with a first input shaft for rotating a wrist portion at a low speed. The second and third degrees of freedom are associated with rotating the tool or tilting the wrist. In order to attain these motions, second and third input shafts concentrically arranged relative to the first input shaft are used for transmitting motion to, through bevel gears, speed reduction mechanisms each symmetrically disposed at right and left sides, and the outputs therefrom are used to drive the tool and wrist.

  • Patent number: 4570660
Abstract: A valve for controlling the flow of water to a filter of a swimming pool has a tubular member with a main inlet opening at one end connectable to a suction hose, an outlet opening at its other end connectable to a suction source, an auxiliary opening intermediate its ends and a communication opening also intermediate its ends. A sleeve is located about the tubular member to be slidable therealong and is positioned on one side of the communication opening. A flexible bellows is secured at one end to the sleeve and at its other to the tubular member on the other side of the communication opening to define a varible volume chamber in communication with the interior of the tubular member via the communication opening. A closure is located in the auxiliary opening and is fast with the sleeve to be slidable therewith. A spring urges the sleeve into a position in which the auxiliary opening is substantially closed.

  • Patent number: 4534127
Abstract: A device for a casting float of the kind through which passes a hole in which the line may run and with a chamber (2) which is open to the front and which forms an extension of the hole (3). This chamber (2) is dimensioned so that it will house the hook with its bait, livebait, flies or similar, and a sinker, where used. A stop which will prevent the line (5) from passing completely through the hole is attached to the line (5) above the float (1,3). A spool (7) is attached to the end of the line. The external dimensions of the spool match the chamber (2) and the spool is designed to be placed inside the chamber before the cast is made. Attached to the spool are one or more snells (16) with fishing-tackle in the form of, for example, a hook (17), flies, livebait or similar. The snells (16) are designed to be wound onto the spool during the cast. The spool may be used as the sinker, being made from a heavy material such as lead.

  • Patent number: 4531342
Abstract: A cup dispenser for cups containing freshly made beverages comprises a discharge opening connecting a dispensing chamber with the interior of the dispenser. This discharge opening is from the inside filled by a rotor mounted about a vertical shaft. The peripheral wall of the rotor closes completely the discharge opening in any position of the rotor apart from the position in which a recess opposes the discharge opening. This recess is shaped in such a manner that it may receive a cup situated therein when the dispenser is activated. Subsequently, the cup is filled with the desired beverage at a filling station and optionally provided with a cover at a cover dispensing device. Such a dispenser protects the interior parts thereof efficiently against the environment, and furthermore it allows the positioning of the covers on the filled cups in a simple manner.
