  • Patent number: 4303454
Abstract: Protective and residual organic coatings are stripped from a surface by substantially sealing the surface from the atmosphere to provide a stripping zone, forming a stream of gaseous stripping composition in an evaporation zone, contacting the surface with the stripping composition in the gaseous state at about ambient temperature and recirculating the gaseous mixture from the stripping zone to the evaporating zone and back to the stripping zone to rapidly increase the concentration of gaseous stripping composition in the stripping zone. Optionally the surface may be rinsed by raising the temperature of the gaseous stripping composition slightly above ambient temperature, whereby the gaseous stripping composition condenses on the surface and flushes the surface free of adhering particles.

  • Patent number: 4231804
Abstract: Coatings, such as paint or oil, are stripped from the surface of a coated object by circulating a stream of a stripping composition in a gaseous state at ambient temperature and pressure into contact with the surface. The stripping composition is normally a liquid at ambient temperature and pressure and has a partial pressure of at least 5 mm of Hg. at ambient conditions. The contacting procedure is conducted substantially in the absence on the surface of liquid condensate of the stripping composition.

Abstract: Coatings, such as paint or oil, are stripped from the surface of a coated object by circulating a stream of a stripping composition in a gaseous state at ambient temperature and pressure into contact with the surface. The stripping composition is normally a liquid at ambient temperature and pressure and has a partial pressure of at least 5 mm. Hg. at ambient conditions. The contacting procedure is conducted substantially in the absence on the surface of liquid condensate of the stripping composition. Alternatively, contacting is carried out with neither the stripping composition nor the surface being above ambient temperature and with at least one of them being cooled below ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 4221210
Abstract: The system for collecting energy from the sun is composed of a transparent panel having a plurality of channels open at both ends, a liquid capable of absorbing about 85-100% of the energy from impinging rays of the sun per centimeter thickness of the liquid, means for introducing the liquid into the panel and means for removing the liquid from the panel. Energy from the sun is collected by circulating the liquid capable of absorbing 85-100% of energy from impinging rays of the sun in a transparent panel which is exposed to the sun per centimeter thickness of the liquid. Heat absorbed by the circulating liquid may be transferred through the medium of heat exchanger and used to heat a building, for hot water and the like.

  • Patent number: 3971341
Abstract: An automatic proportioner for supplying medication to automatic watering troughs in poultry yards, comprises a differential piston unit movable in a stepped casing with the small piston acting as pump and the larger piston as actuator. A tubular valve movable coaxially with the piston unit serves to admit line water under pressure into the intermediate cylinder space for the upward stroke, whereby a concentrated medicated solution is sucked from a vessel into the suction side of the pump. During the downward stroke the valve interrupts the water supply from the line and the large piston is driven in downward direction by water from a raised storage tank, whereby the solution is driven into the intermediate space, mixed with the line water remaining therein in the proportion of the respective cylinder volumes and expelled to the troughs, at a pressure defined by the water level in the raised storage tank.
