Abstract: A baby bottle comprising a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment comprised a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is comprised of at least one substantially open bore. The distal end is comprised of at least one partially closed port and a stabilization coupling mechanism first portion. The second compartment is comprised of a first end and a second end. The first end of one embodiment comprises a partially closed cavity and a stabilization coupling mechanism second portion. The stabilization coupling mechanism second portion may be adapted to mate with the stabilization coupling mechanism first portion. Furthermore, the first end may be adapted to couple to the first compartment distal end. The second end of one embodiment may have a substantially open bore and a removably coupled end cap.
Abstract: A structural frame typically comprised of steel metallic material that is utilized in retrofitting a small basement window in an older residence with an egress window is described that comprises pieces of linear L-channel that has been formed into a rectangular frame. The thickness of the channel is relatively thin permitting an installer to retrofit the smaller window with a larger one that is only marginally less wide without having to cut an opening within the foundation wall that is wider than the original window's steel buck. Excepting the bottom side of the original window's buck, it can be left in place during retrofit. Accordingly, a substantial portion of the foundation wall's load carrying capacity around the window opening is maintained during retrofit eliminating the need for additional reinforcement.
Abstract: A reusable bag with a fastening system is disclosed. The reusable bag having at least one panel, but typically having a first panel and a second panel with a first loop handle and a second loop handle, the first and second handles coupled with and extending from the first and second panels respectively. The fastening system of the reusable bag comprises at least one of, but typically both a first strap and a second strap. The first strap having one of a hook material and a loop material, while the second strap having another of the hook material. Further disclosed are a looped third strap of the fastening system and a pocket adapted to receive the first and second straps. Methods relating to the reusable bag and fastening system, such as a method comprising folding and/or rolling, stacking, wrapping, and securing one or more reusable bags are additionally described herein.
Abstract: A device for cutting flat strips of desired width from relatively elongate material is described. Methods of using the strip cutting device are also described. Embodiments of the strip cutting device are adapted to readily cleave a leg from L-shaped material to produce flat strips. Some embodiments are adapted to precisely and accurately cleave flat strips of material to produce narrower flat strips.
Abstract: A furniture attachment system is described. Embodiments of the furniture attachment system comprise a highly adjustable interface that is readily adapted to hold, store, or secure items of highly varied size and shape at a convenient location proximate a bed or other piece of furniture. In use, the present invention holds, stores, or secures items at beside, or beside other furniture, by securing the items to a bed or other furniture.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a chock holder adapted to be mounted to the bottom side of a trailer that includes a notification mechanism that automatically deploys when a chock is removed from the holder.
Abstract: Hydrogels, methods of preparing hydrogels, and ophthalmic lenses comprising hydrogels are described. Fully hydrated embodiments of the hydrogels have relatively high water content and oxygen permeability, along with relatively low modulus of elasticity. Embodiments of the hydrogels in substantially dehydrated condition are adapted to lathe cutting at or above room temperature. Embodiments of contact lenses made with the silicone hydrogels have low on-eye water loss.
Abstract: A method of treating alkaline industrial by-products, such as red mud generated by Bayer process bauxite refining, is described. Embodiments of the method comprise treating the alkaline industrial by-products with salts of divalent and/or polyvalent cations, thereby lowering pH of the alkaline industrial by-products. The method involves replacement reactions in which relatively insoluble hydroxide salts form precipitates, thereby removing hydroxide ions from solution.

Abstract: An animal training device that can be used to confine an animal during training, as well as methods for its use, is described. Embodiments of the present invention comprise a marginally unstable base that makes the device prone to rocking or toppling when physically disturbed by the movement of an animal in the device. Animals usually find the rocking or toppling unpleasant. An advantage of the animal training device is that an animal receives negative feedback from its undesirable behavior (excessive movement in or straining against the device) in the absence of disciplinary action by a human trainer. Additional advantages of the confining animal training device include, but are not limited to, reducing physical stress on a human trainer and decreasing the time required to train an animal.
Abstract: A device that schedules the transmission of information between system components, paired with different data adapters, allows for a system that can transmit data between unlike devices. The system focuses on allowing electronic devices to be used in more facets than the intended application. A user is able to hook up multiple source devices including computers, cable boxes, heating systems, et. al. and interact with them on different output devices. Based on the output device television, speakers, monitors, et. al. and the control device, i.e. a remote, keyboard, Wii Moteā¢, et. al. the interaction with the source device will be tailored to provide the most natural interaction. This will also allow unlike devices to be used together in order to create a synergistic effect.
Abstract: Several embodiments of reactive biasing fasteners are described. The fasteners are utilized in place of jam nuts and Belleville washers providing for the storage of a pre-load and effectively providing a locking function to prevent unintended loosening of an associated bolt. The embodiments resiliently deform under load to store pre-load or live load energy. Further, the fasteners provide a means for interfacing with a self-reacting tightening power tool thereby eliminating or minimizing the need for reaction arms. Additionally, several embodiments through the incorporation of a threaded bore effectively act to create a substantially torsionless live load on the portion of a bolt located in the bolt hole of a workpiece when in use. The resilient deformation of the biasing fasteners permits the live load to be stored therein and accordingly lessens the risk of loosening of the bolted joint due to exteriorly applied forces such as but not limited to vibration and thermal expansion and contraction.
Abstract: Embodiments of door protectors are described. One typical embodiment comprises front and rear corrugated cardboard panels that are draped over a door by way of one or more pieces of saddle tape that join the panels along their respective top edges. A plurality of folds, perforations and cutouts are provided on the faces of the panels to permit access to the door's hardware. Accordingly, the door can be operated in a traditional manner while providing impact and damage protection to the door. The panels include a plurality of widthwise folds that permit the door protector to be folded for transport and storage. In variations, the edge straps are provided often comprised of hook and loop material to both secure the protector in a folded configuration and to an associated door.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise a single-wheeled recumbent bicycle trailer which may be attached to a bicycle, for transport of a passenger or passengers, wherein the passengers may contribute to propulsion of the combined cycle. The embodiments include a recumbent seat position and other accommodations for the safety and comfort of passenger(s) and ease of use. Such accommodations may include single or multi-passenger configuration, passenger pedals, hands-free operation for passengers, supportive seats with backrests, extendable leg rests, and safety restraints.
Abstract: A tactical utility pole system for use by law enforcement is described. Embodiments of the system are user configurable depending on a particular tactical need. Variations are described for breaching a locked door, breaching a closed window and delivering and nearly instantaneously detonating a distraction within the associated structure, breaching a closed window and delivering a stream of OC or other chemical spray within the associated structure, and breaching a closed window and delivering a chemical grenade within the structure. Other variations are also contemplated.
Abstract: An improved tool for attenuating vibration in a disk brake rotor during the machining (or facing) thereof using a disk brake lathe is described. In its most basic form, embodiments of the tool comprise a pair of substantially linear and parallel spaced apart legs that are fixedly coupled together by way of a coupling section proximate their proximal ends and have opposing pads attached to the opposing distal ends. An adjustable clamping mechanism is also provided through which the distance between the legs can be varied and/or the biasing force applied against opposing brake rotor surfaces can be varied by way of the legs acting through the pads.
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a military helmet incorporating a neck shield extension is described. The neck shield extension is coupled to the body of the helmet using a plurality of elongated flexible straps. Accordingly, the neck extension moves upwardly whenever the wearer tilts his/her head back or to the side so that the wearer's head mobility is not hindered. The straps are comprised of a material having both a high tensile strength and tensile modulus that helps firmly hold the extension in place relative to the helmet when the extension is impacted with a ballistic projectile or other shrapnel.
Abstract: A screw shaft turbine compressor comprising (i) a compressor section, (ii) a turbine section, (iii) a combustion section coupling to the compressor section and the turbine section, and (iv) a grooved shaft. The grooved shaft in one embodiment extends from a portion of the compressor section, through the combustion section, and to a portion of the turbine section.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for a collapsible enclosure for a machine tool. According to one embodiment, a collapsible enclosure for a machine tool comprises a substantially waterproof pan. The pan comprises a base portion and a wall portion extending from the base portion around substantially all of an outer edge of the base portion. The collapsible enclosure further comprises a collapsible frame resting on the base portion of the pan and erected inside of the wall portion of the pan. A substantially waterproof cover substantially surrounds the collapsible frame and extends into the pan to overlap an inner side of the wall portion of the pan.
Abstract: An improved method of storing and retrieving cookware and utensils utilizing an assembly attached to the underside of an accommodating surface. The assembly incorporates hanger assemblies whose positions are adjustable along the length of the assembly. The hanger assemblies utilize hooks that hang in a downward vertical position and are capable of rotating and pivoting around their vertical axis. The assembly can be mounted onto any accommodating horizontal surface inside of an enclosed area such as a cabinet or in open space. The assembly can hang any cookware, utensil, or item with an accommodating appendage from which it could be hung.
