Abstract: An apparatus for driving a backlight includes: a pulse width modulation signal phase shifting unit that shifts phases of at least one of red, green, and blue pulse width signal modulation signals so as to output at least one of phase-shifted red, green, and blue pulse width signal modulation signals; red, green, and blue light emitting diode arrays, each of which includes a plurality of light emitting diodes; and at least one light emitting diode driving unit driving one of the red, green, and blue light emitting diode arrays by using one of the phase-shifted red, green, and blue pulse width signal modulation signals.
