  • Patent number: 4532354
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for purifying N,N-dimethylaminopropylamine containing 1,3-diaminopropane as an impurity. Dimethylaminopropionitrile is formed by adding dimethylamine to acrylonitrile, and is then converted by subsequent hydrogenation and distillation into N,N-dimethylaminopropylamine. The impurity 1,3-diaminopropane is removed by adding a metal salt of a transition element which forms a stable complex with the 1,3-diaminopropane.

  • Patent number: 4484803
Abstract: This invention relates to an objective lens for regenerating a video disc or the like. A semiconductor laser is used as a light source to directly drive an objective lens for carrying out tracking, and thus the lens must be small and light-weight, but the aberration on the optical axis could well be corrected. However, because of small-size of lens, a manufacture error such as eccentricity is greatly affected. A positive meniscus lens on the image side is approximated to a concentric configuration by an objective lens comprising two lenses whereby the influence resulting from eccentricity may be minimized.

  • Patent number: 4474442
Abstract: An automatic film winding mechanism and method generates a series of pulses for each unit movement amount of the film, computes the speed of the film advancing movement, compares the speed to a stored look-up table for determining the precise point at which power to the film drive motor should be shut off, in order to have the advancement of the film come to a complete stop at a predetermined film transport distance. The invention thereby allows the film to be advanced to the exact transport distance regardless of the output and voltage fluctuation of the film drive power source, or of the film variation or load variation of the motor caused by a change in ambient temperature or other conditions.

  • Patent number: 4469390
Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for simply and inexpensively attaching semirigid coaxial cable to suitable connectors in which the connector is provided with a sleeve having either internal fluting or cross threads. The effective internal diameter of the sleeve is only slightly greater than the external diameter of the outer conductor of the semirigid cable so that when the sleeve is crimped the flutes and/or threads bite into the outer conductor to form a connector-cable bond sufficiently resistant to pull-off, twisting and slipping, while at the same time forming a joint having an acceptably low radio signal power leakage through the crimped interface and so little dimensioning effect on the cable that transmission losses due to internal reflections are maintained acceptably low.
